We continue our Ford Friday -- it wasn't planned that way, I swear -- with this good-looking 2016 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350.

The Ford Mustang has long been considered a major performance bargain, but there have long been halo models with considerably higher price tags. That will continue to be the case in 2024, as Motor1 noticed that Ford’s new Mustang configurator shows prices ranging from mild to wild, as per tradition.

Jim Farley is one of the more active automotive CEOs on social media, frequently posting on Twitter and LinkedIn. Earlier this week, Farley tweeted a video of the company’s S650 Mustang GT3 race car, based on the upcoming 2024 Mustang. A while later, he retweeted his video with a question: Should we make a road version?

The early 2000s was a wild time for car culture. The import scene was hopping after The Fast and the Furious hit cinemas, and in 2004, the world was gifted with Pimp My Ride. Powered by rapper Xzibit, the show featured “unsuspecting” car owners taking their rides to the extreme with wild colors, rims, and customizations. A few of the cars have surfaced over the years, but surprisingly, the one in this sales listing isn’t one of them.

We know the upcoming Ford Mustang will offer a hi-po Dark Horse trim, and that trim will be available with carbon-fiber wheels. They won't be cheap.

Question is -- if you can afford the Dark Horse, would you pay more for these wheels?

The late-model Ford Mustang GT350 is one of the most fun performance versions of the venerable pony car, at least in my opinion. This one is for sale for a quite steep $55,000 -- though that pricing isn't that far off what the car was when it was new.

When Ford unveiled the next-generation Mustang at the Detroit Auto Show in September, it was a bit mum on exact horsepower.

Now, we know what the numbers are.

In 1968, Warner Bros-Seven Arts released a film that forever changed the way in which car chases were shot. Directed by Peter Yates, and starring Steve McQueen, Bullitt became the gold standard for how to capture automotive mayhem in a realistic manner that would force an audience to the very edge of its seat. Despite the plot allowing for one, we never got a sequel. However, it looks like Steven Spielberg is producing one of those remakes that’s not really a remake with Bradley Cooper co-producing and assuming the lead role.

In the old days, as in just a few years ago, a car thief might not be brazen enough to nab a ride in the middle of the day or from a busy parking lot, but things are different today. Now, we’re seeing massive gangs of thieves raiding dealerships and making off with several high-dollar models at a time. Fox 2 reported that Police in Flint, Michigan, rounded up more than two dozen people earlier this week for their roles in a vast car theft at a local dealer.

DETROIT -- The 2024 Ford Mustang arrives early next summer, but Ford isn’t waiting for next year to take the wraps off.

In an attempt to own the 2022 North American International Auto Show/Detroit Auto Show news cycle, Ford has set up a “stampede” of Mustang owners who are traveling here to the Motor City. That’s ahead of a prime-time unveiling in downtown Detroit.

I should point out, for the sake of context, that as important as the reveal of any new Mustang is, it is not hard for Ford to own the news this year, since there isn’t much else going on. Unless hot-rod Tahoes and special-edition Jeeps tickle your fancy.

You may have noticed a dearth of posts today. That's because one of us was driving to Detroit for the North American International Auto Show and at least one of us has been working on some news we cannot yet share...look for that info as embargoes lift.

In a little over a month, the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) will allegedly be returning to Detroit for the first time since 2019. But the really big news is that there will be a brand new Mustang for everyone to look at if everything goes according to plan this time.
