The love of my life is my (gradually being rehabilitated) is my 1971 Alfa Spider. Yes, of course, it's red. I've loved cars since the Cobras started annoying the Ferrari's in the early 60's. Fell in love with 'foreign stuff' when a sister's boyfriend with a Healy 3000 outran a Firebird TransAm on a top speed run..... Hmm there may be something to this small-car stuff. My perspective on cars stems from having lived through the 60's dinosaur-sized muscle-car era in high school, and then seeing the safety and environmentalist inspired ice age of the 70's nearly wipe out cars as we knew them. However, I have also lived long enough to see cars gradually recover over the decades and to come to the realization that the ice age hadn't killed cars but had actually made them better. Today, we live in the golden age of cars. Enjoy it while it lasts as another ice age will come soon enough.
