Detroit33 46 years old. 9 years at Ford, 24 in the auto industry.┬* All cars below were/are daily drivers, no wife's vehicles included:

1971 Plymouth Valiant auto (driven through high school)

1983 Pontiac 2000 auto (huge POS, but got me through college)

1990 Ford Probe LX V6 man (just started at Ford, first new car I ever bought)

1989 Ford Probe GT man (used from coworker)

1989 Mustang 5.0L GT man (used from Ford B-lot, made me drive like an *******, yes, it was the car's fault)

1992 Ford Thunderbird auto (used from B-lot, great stereo)

1993 Ford Thunderbird Supercoupe man (used from B-lot, didn't like it at all, sold 2 months later to my brother)

1995 BMW 325is man (used, horrible in the snow even on good tires)

1996 Ford Explorer 5.0L AWD auto (lease, another new car, pull the fuse for the GEM module and the odometer wouldn't register miles...nice)

1999 Ford Expedition 5.4L AWD auto (loved the bigness, but felt guilty driving such a huge vehicle alone 95% of the time, made me drive like a grandpa)

1996 Ford Probe GT man (just returned from Europe and wanted a small sporty car)

1990 Infiniti Q45 auto (great off-white interior, overheating problems)

2003 Lexus IS300 Sportcross auto (loved the interior, fuel economy sucked)

2005 Mazda3 SP23 Edition man (great metallic grey exterior with orange/brown leather interior, but why so much f'in road noise??)

2007? Mazdaspeed3 man (lots of torque steer, reduced power in 1st and 2nd, WTF?, first gen 3's are still the best looking in my book, still long for one when I see them on the road, but road noise was horrible, sold it when I got a company car)

2009 Lincoln MKZ (all around great vehicle, THX-II was best OEM sound system I have heard until riding in a 2014 A4 with the B&O option)

2006 BMW 328is convertible auto (needed a toy after selling motorcycle at wife's urging, still don't know what all the fuss is about a 3-series, pretty average in my book, liked the '96 coupe better)

2010 Lincoln MKT 3.5L Ecoboost auto (one of my all-time favorite vehicles, great power, limo-like backseat, great stereo, super-quiet on the road, wife hated the styling)

2009 Audi A4 Cabriolet 2.0T AWD man ('nother toy, still own and drive frequently top down as much as possible)

current DD: 2012 BMW 550i GT (power, man, lots of power, great ride and surprisingly good handling for its bulk, great backseat for the child seats, rarely see other 5-GT's in the Detroit area)

next vehicle due in Jan 2015:┬* Durango R/T or Flex Limited Ecoboost

troyohchatter This is going to be fun.

1970 Pontiac Bonneville - 360HP 455 4v, but so much weight it hardly mattered. ┬*Every part on the car broke..twice!

1980 Datsun 310GX - I knew after driving this car for a while that the domestics were in trouble. ┬*One of the lowest rated Japanese cars at the time, it still ran good and had no issues, something you NEVER saw with a 1980 domestic product.

1983 Subaru DL Station Wagon. ┬*Loved it. ┬*All of the smog equipment removed. ┬*After the Datsun, the Subaru felt like a race car. ┬*The metal on this car was considerably thicker than found on my 70 Bonny.

1989 Chevy S-10 with 2.8L V6 and 5spd manual. ┬*2000RPM at 70MPH, couldn't run the interstate in 5th gear if the wind was blowing against it or it was raining. ┬*Terrible truck all the way around. ┬*Gutless, handled terribly. ┬*Junk

1984 Toyota Van 5spd manual. ┬*Easily the most unique and one of the most fun vehicles I ever owned. ┬*Dorky, silly, slow, quirky, but so insanely cool. ┬*Oh, and it had a 3500Lb towing package on it and it would tow 3500lbs easier than the S-10 would tow 500lbs.

1993 Dodge Spirit 2.5/auto. ┬*As reliable as the sunrise, around 30MPG at 70MPH, comfortable, and did I mention it was bulletproof?

1993 Ford Festiva. ┬*Wife's car when she met me. ┬*The previous owner didn't keep it serviced so it ate oil. ┬*Drive it like ya stole it and still get over 40MPG. God help you if you hit anything larger than a horsefly though.

1997 Ford Taurus. ┬*Good car with a self destructing drivetrain.

1995 Honda del Sol. ┬*Fun fun FUN car, very unique.. not many things better than a 70 degree evening with the top off and the windows down.

2003 Honda CR-V. ┬*Ideal exhibit for what happens when you let the bean counters get involved in engineering and design. Unreliable for a domestic car, but throw in the Honda badge and it's inexcusable. ┬*It being built in the UK only added to the tarnish. ┬*Got more hood chips in the first 500 miles prior to bug shield installation than my 2000 has gotten in 170K miles.

------------CURRENT FLEET------------

2002 Ford Ranger. ┬*Stripper except for the A/C. ┬*Paid 9300 out the door for it new. ┬*If it blows up tomorrow, I more than got my money out of it. ┬*Rubber seat and floor, but easy to go all "Fred Sanford" when making a land fill run.

2000 Honda CR-V ┬*EX 4wd 5spd ┬*Doesn't do anything as well as the 2003 on paper and yet in every way is so much better than the 2nd generation CR-V. ┬*it's kinda cool to drive a non VTEC Honda and having to keep it in the sweet spot to get power.

2012 Mazda5. ┬*How this vehicle sells under 20K units a year is beyond me. ┬* Minivans aren't mini and most of the room is wasted in most driving and use. ┬*Meanwhile, the Mazda5 drives like a Miata with seating for six. ┬*The 2.5 pull well and the car handles like it's on rails. ┬*One of the few modern automatics that actually drives in a way that I don't notice, picking the right gear, holding the gear and shifting when appropriate. ┬*Yes, modern Hondas get better MPG (the 5 is still not Skyactive) but it never lets you forget it's trying to save gas at the expense of drivability.

Zykotec OK, let's se if I get this right. 35 years old now, and a few of the cars I bought were exclusively for parts, or just unrealistic projects.

1968 Ford Taunus 20m (scrapped while still a project)

1983 Honda Quintet (shared with brother, dads 'last' car before devoting his life to bikes)

1980 Audi 100 (totalled after three days)

1980 Prelude (only a few days)

1978 Buick Century Wagon

1978 Opel Ascona (repainted and sold, only car I ever made money on)

1978 Volvo 242

1985 Peugeot 505 GTi. (Never got it started though...)

1985 Volvo 245, (parts car for the 242)

1969 Ford Taunus (got screwed on this, could never get a title for it)

-Roughly 12 1983-1990 Ford Sierras , still have one , an '84 2.3 GL, and most of the parts of an '84 XR4i. Some were before and some in between and after the cars below here, and some were just for parts.

1987 Ford Scorpio (traded for a Sierra, but traded it back, because it wouldn't run right)

1980 Ford Granada Wagon (european version)

1986 Mazda 626 ( I may have made some money on selling this for parts)

1990 Honda Accord 2.2

1988 Audi 100 2.2 Quattro

1997 Renault Laguna

1989 Ford Scorpio

1993 BMW 525 IX┬*

2003 Honda CRV┬*

2007 Honda CRV

So, that's so far.┬*
