So how about a Formula 1 thread.

This upcoming season should be interesting with new engines (finally). The new cars are being released.

For sure. Looking forward to the return of turbos. Also the new KERS system with more power should be entertaining with hopefully more passing. I just hope someone figures out how to best the Red Bulls, if not things will get a bit boring.

Given all the reliability issues at Jerez to start off, the Aussie GP could be pretty wide open.

I'm not posting today times because the formatting is a bit difficult. You can find the times here.

http://www.crash.net/f1/results/199923/1/jerez-f1-test-times-day-three-30-january.html

Mercedes engines are once again dominating, with Kevin Magnussen from McLaren setting the best lap of the day. Williams is also looking decent which I am very happy about.

Wow when was the last time a Red Bull was at the bottom of ANY time chart? I try not to read too much into the early testing... its like preseason in the NFL.

However every picture I've seen the cars have ugly "warts" on their noses.

JMII said Wow when was the last time a Red Bull was at the bottom of ANY time chart? I try not to read too much into the early testing... its like preseason in the NFL. Yeah, no kidding. Vettel beat by even Marussia and Caterham, and by a serious margin. I think there's some serious panic over in Milton Keynes.¬*

I take back my earlier statement, some of the cars don't look *that* bad. I did find one quote very interesting:

"Red Bull team principal Christian Horner even went as far as saying that he wouldn’t be surprised if half the field retired from the first race in Australia"
