Looks like talk of a shooting brake might be a bit far fetched. Expect MQB chassi, TFSI engines and the usual Audi interior.

I think there is something wrong. Â*The current TT doesn't sell well - and it feels like driving from inside a cave. Â*The new version looks like it will have similar visibility and similar lack of drama for the price.
The TT should have been reborn in the form of the Quattro concept. Â*The latter is a beautiful design, an AWD 2+2 perfect for the TT's market. Â*Instead, it sounds like they will push a Quattro well over the $130K mark, way out of the reach of regular folks, and into competition with their own R8. I will be surprised if the TT sells more than 15K units per year in the first year, and it will fizzle from there. Â*An attainable Quattro would have stoked tremendous enthusiasm in a waning segment. |
