Exfordtech said Got an 89 Escort wagon with 120k on it from an auction in 2000. $125 including auction fees. 5 speed stick. Replaced the clutch, inner and outer tie rod ends, front pads and rotors, machined the rear drums and replaced shoes and hardware. Probably spent $250 total (I was a Ford tech at the time). Consistent 35 to 40 mpg on a 100 mile round trip highway commute. Had to let it go when rear strut towers were rotted through at 330k. Did nothing else to it but LOF and one set of tires. **** good cheap car. My folks had an 86 Tempo they bought new and kept running as a n+1 car until 2006 when it did the same thing.*
