I'd like to know what is the position of the TTAC community about devices like Zubie that turns our clunker into a "connected car of the future"?

I'd be worried about being hacked in my old '04 F150. My independent insurance agent who represents many different companies brought up the possibility of Progressive and their "snapshot". I told him I wouldn't be able to afford my premiums if I took that. I have a radar detector for a reason and spend much time on the highway. (I don't speed in town, too much traffic.)

$100 a year just to share my car data/location on social networks seems kind of foolish.* For less than $50 you can get a OBD2 reader if you want to read your cars error codes.
