This is the downside of the unintended acceleration hysteria. *Even Lotus doesn't allow left foot braking, unless the throttle is at zero when you start braking:*

That's a shame. *I can understand this sort of thing with an automatic transmission, but it doesn't make sense with a manual transmission, especially in a sports car.

Blame the lawyers.
