I can't imagine any logical reason to have a device like this in my car. Not only for the obvious privacy issues, but this... "I did get dinged from doing an emergency stop when a homeless person on a bicycle loaded with plastic bottles swung out across three lanes in front of me, going about two kilometers an hour" You were put in a position where an emergency braking maneuver was necessary to avoid hitting this man, a natural and appropriate response, but you say you were penalized for the maneuver, which doesn't make sense. The next situation like this will cause you to "weigh your options" instead of reacting to the situation without concern for these possible consequences. This is a glaring flaw in this type of device that really needs to be addressed
