Today's video of the week is a short one.

It comes from a practice session for the Porsche Sprint Challenge Iberica. According to Road & Track, driver Alex Areia lost the brakes in his 991.2-generation 911 GT3 Cup car and went off track at Portimao.

Way off track -- he ended up in the stands, which were pretty empty at the time.

Neither he nor anyone else was hurt.

Go here to see a TikTok that catches the tail end of the crash.

Tim Healey grew up around the auto-parts business and has always had a love for cars — his parents joke his first word was “‘Vette”. Despite this, he wanted to pursue a career in sports writing but he ended up falling semi-accidentally into the automotive-journalism industry, first at Consumer Guide Automotive and later at Web2Carz.com. He also worked as an industry analyst at Mintel Group and freelanced for About.com, CarFax, Vehix.com, High Gear Media, Torque News, FutureCar.com, Cars.com, among others, and of course Vertical Scope sites such as AutoGuide.com, Off-Road.com, and HybridCars.com. He’s an urbanite and as such, doesn’t need a daily driver, but if he had one, it would be compact, sporty, and have a manual transmission.

Speaking of crashes, I watched the NASCAR race at Talladega last weekend. That race is like a 200-mph demolition derby. And they must have given Bubba Wallace a 17,000 mg dose of Xanax to keep him from kicking Kyle Busch's butt after what happened on the last lap.

You're the first person I've heard blame Kyle Busch for Bubba Wallace taking himself out putting a third block on Ryan Blaney. Also, Kyle Busch is seven inches taller and thirty pounds heavier than Bubba Wallace. Bubba has accepted responsibility for causing the crash, but the last thing he will ever do is square off with Kyle Busch.
