Used Car of the Day: Unimog U1300L

There's not a lot of detail in this ad for a Unimog U1300L, but that's fine since the pictures do a lot of talking.

Unimogs are cool, what can we say?

Here's what we do know -- the seller claims it "runs great" and wants $75,000. We also know the vehicle is in Carson City, Nevada, and appears, based on the seller's email, to belong to a car-wash operator.

Beyond that, well, you'll have to do more to find out the details, which could be tricky since the ad implies only serious buyers should be inquiring.

Still, it's a freakin' Unimog. Maybe 75 grand is a bit too steep, but the innate coolness factor here is why we chose to feature it, even with the sparse ad copy.

Check it out here.

Tim Healey grew up around the auto-parts business and has always had a love for cars — his parents joke his first word was “‘Vette”. Despite this, he wanted to pursue a career in sports writing but he ended up falling semi-accidentally into the automotive-journalism industry, first at Consumer Guide Automotive and later at Web2Carz.com. He also worked as an industry analyst at Mintel Group and freelanced for About.com, CarFax, Vehix.com, High Gear Media, Torque News, FutureCar.com, Cars.com, among others, and of course Vertical Scope sites such as AutoGuide.com, Off-Road.com, and HybridCars.com. He’s an urbanite and as such, doesn’t need a daily driver, but if he had one, it would be compact, sporty, and have a manual transmission.

  • Lorenzo Well, it was never an off-roader, much less a military vehicle, so let the people with too much money play make believe.
  • EBFlex The best gift would have been a huge bonfire of all the fak mustangs in inventory and shutting down the factory that makes them.Heck, nobody would even have to risk life and limb starting the fire, just park em close together and wait for the super environmentally friendly EV fire to commence.
  • Varezhka Of all the countries to complain about WTO rules violation, especially that related to battery business…
  • Carson D At 1:24 AM, the voyage data recorder (VDR) stopped recording the vessel’s system data, but it was able to continue taping audio. At 1:26 AM, the VDR resumed recording vessel system data. Three minutes later, the Dali collided with the bridge. Nothing suspicious at all. Let's go get some booster shots!
