This feature was Toyota FJ-heavy for a bit, but we haven't had one for a while. So today we're featuring a 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser TRD.

The seller has a new Bronco on the way, so he or she is unloading this FJ for $34,999. This San Diego-based ride has a supercharged 4.0-liter engine with 133,000 miles on it, CARB-legal JBA headers, a stainless-steel cat-back exhaust system, a TRD front-brake kit, a TRD cold-air intake, OEM rear locker, and new coils and plugs.

Both front and rear suspensions are heavily upgraded, and there is a lot of off-road gear, including a winch, extra lights, and a roof rack.

The seller has also put a lot of time and money into the audio system. Since this isn't an ad, I won't list it all here. You can click through. All told the seller claims there is $40K worth of upgrades.

Check it out here.

Tim Healey grew up around the auto-parts business and has always had a love for cars — his parents joke his first word was “‘Vette”. Despite this, he wanted to pursue a career in sports writing but he ended up falling semi-accidentally into the automotive-journalism industry, first at Consumer Guide Automotive and later at Web2Carz.com. He also worked as an industry analyst at Mintel Group and freelanced for About.com, CarFax, Vehix.com, High Gear Media, Torque News, FutureCar.com, Cars.com, among others, and of course Vertical Scope sites such as AutoGuide.com, Off-Road.com, and HybridCars.com. He’s an urbanite and as such, doesn’t need a daily driver, but if he had one, it would be compact, sporty, and have a manual transmission.

Observation A: Very nice condition for a 15+ year old vehicle.

Observation B: Let's not think about the owner's cost per mile.

Looks like a street queen. Black would show off-road battle scars rather easily.

  • Eliyahu There will be many more blog posts before we reach escape velocity (EV).
  • Lou_BC The original civilian Hummer was a cynical exercise for the "look at me, I'm great" crowd. The EV Hummer is no different. My local dealer has 2 of them collecting dust.
  • Fatima Too much engine noise so good !
  • Fatima so good . thanks
  • Fred @jalop1991 Honda CR-v vs Sport Hybrid $4500 price difference, 13,500 miles per year, $5 gas. Break Even 8.1 years $563 savings in gas/yearIn any case I'll be buying a low mileage used car to get something nicer. I won't say no to a hybrid, but for me the money just isn't there.
