QOTD: Heated Seats or Heated Steering Wheel?

The weather turned nasty for a lot of us this week, and it's heated-seat time again.

While driving around the other day, I found myself entertaining a silly question -- if you had to pick just one, would you rather have heated seats or a heated steering wheel?

Yes, this is a silly question. While there are plenty of cars that have heated seats but not a heated steering wheel, I can't think of one off the top of my head that has a heated steering wheel but not heated seats.

So yes, this one is just for fun.

Again, if you had to choose -- would you rather keep your buns warm or have your hands be toasty?

Sound off below.

Despite this, he wanted to pursue a career in sports writing but he ended up falling semi-accidentally into the automotive-journalism industry, first at Consumer Guide Automotive and later at Web2Carz.com. He also worked as an industry analyst at Mintel Group and freelanced for About.com, CarFax, Vehix.com, High Gear Media, Torque News, FutureCar.com, Cars.com, among others, and of course Vertical Scope sites such as AutoGuide.com, Off-Road.com, and HybridCars.com. He’s an urbanite and as such, doesn’t need a daily driver, but if he had one, it would be compact, sporty, and have a manual transmission.

I live in Buffalo and own a Golf Alltrack. I switched out the black vinyl seats for GTI Clark plaid seats and I appreciate how great they feel in the winter and how much cooler they stay in the summer. Considering how they warm my entire body I would definitely choose them over a heated steering wheel.

On a similar note I would never own a snow blower without heated hand grips. My Ariens 11528 keeps my hands toasty in the coldest weather

Neither. Gloves work just fine. Cloth seats aren't that cold.

Heated wheel, I dont need my buns hot, but my hands run on the cold side

Both please. Stellantis and I believe Volvo generally bundle the two items together in a "Cold Weather Package". And don't make availability contingent on springing for Leather trim. Cloth with heat is great in the cold months!
