These Models Take the Longest for Dealers to Sell
The last few years have been crazy for car shoppers, with inventory shortages and harsh price gouging running rampant. That said, the market seems to be healing, and some dealers now find themselves with too much inventory on hand. CarEdge recently released a report on the vehicles that sit on dealers’ lots the longest, and one Jeep model shows more than two years of supply.
The Jeep Renegade sits on the showroom floor the longest, with 753 days of supply. The Chevy Silverado 4500 Chassis cab sits for 443 days, and the Lincoln Corsair for 423. Though they sell a bit faster, there are almost 20,000 Ram 2500s and Jeep Gladiators for sale, and a whopping 35,590 Jeep Compasses available. On the other end of the spectrum, the Kia Seltos and Lexus NX sell in just nine days, while the Kia Carnival takes 13 and the BMW X5 moves in 14.
If you’re hoping to get into a new car, you’ll have a much better shot at getting a deal on a slower-selling model. Dealers charge more for in-demand vehicles, so you might see a markup or added-cost options that you can’t avoid. Pricing is even more of an issue now, as interest rates are high, so a new car loan can get expensive fast.

There are no new Renegades for sale within my geographic circle of up to 85 kms. Looks like the artificial shortage game. They bring one in, 10 buyers line up for it, $10,000 over MSRP. Yeah. Like with a lot of new cars.
I drove a rental Renegade a few years back. Felt the engine (TIgerShark) was ready was ready to pop out from under the hood. Very crude!! Sole purpose was CAFE offsets.
Also drove a V6 Cherokee which was very nice and currently out of production. Should be able to scoop up one at a fair deal.🚗🚗🚗
The sad truth is the only vehicle FCA sold that broke the 200,000 sales barrier was the 200. I rented one and found it impressive. It is certainly better than the Renegade. At this point I would buy a used 200 over a Renegade. Who in their right mind would buy a Renegade?
