Honda Closing "Secret" Museum To Renovate Larger Space for Public Access

It’s hard to keep anything a secret these days, especially when it comes to car nerds on the internet. Honda’s “super secret” museum at its Torrence, CA headquarters is a poorly-kept secret, but regardless of its visibility, it appears the spot is closing at the end of the month.

J.D. Power’s Tyson Jominy tweeted about the change earlier today, and the few images he shared are packed with rare and desirable Hondas from the decades. A Honda employee replied to Jominy in the comments to say that the automaker is moving the cars to expand the display space for more public viewing opportunities. It appears the “secret” museum won’t be a mystery for much longer, though it already has a Yelp page, so it’s not like anyone was out of the loop.

Among the collection are some of Honda’s most iconic models, including a 1988 CRX Si, a 1975 Civic, an Acura NSX race car, and a handful of Integras. The vehicles are used, too, not factory-fresh holdovers. In 200, Motor Trend toured the facility and found a few with more than 100,000 miles on the clock, including a 104,000-mile Acura Legend that looks as fresh as the day it left the factory.
