Used Car of the Day: 1969 Ford Fairlane

We're going classic today with this 1969 Ford Fairlane.

The seller is asking $15,000 for this car, which has a 429 cubic-inch engine and an automatic transmission. The car has a new front end, a rebuilt transmission, and plenty of updates.

There's a lot more at AutoTrader -- the link is at the listing -- but it appears to require you to have an account.

We'll have hot Chicago Auto Show content soon -- the hamsters are typing, and in some cases, we're waiting on an embargo. Until then, give this Ford Fairlane a look-see.

Tim Healey grew up around the auto-parts business and has always had a love for cars — his parents joke his first word was “‘Vette”. Despite this, he wanted to pursue a career in sports writing but he ended up falling semi-accidentally into the automotive-journalism industry, first at Consumer Guide Automotive and later at Web2Carz.com. He also worked as an industry analyst at Mintel Group and freelanced for About.com, CarFax, Vehix.com, High Gear Media, Torque News, FutureCar.com, Cars.com, among others, and of course Vertical Scope sites such as AutoGuide.com, Off-Road.com, and HybridCars.com. He’s an urbanite and as such, doesn’t need a daily driver, but if he had one, it would be compact, sporty, and have a manual transmission.

Lou_BC--If you haven't been on Rare Classic Cars you will have to view Adam's videos. Adam has some beautiful low mileage unrestored survivor cars especially 60s and 70s Fords, Mercurys, and Lincolns. He has a few Canadian made cars like a 59 Pontiac Parisiane and a 1970 Chevy Caprice Classic with a 454 V-8.

  • 1995 SC Are there any mitigation systems that would have prevented this though? We had a ship hit a bridge in Jacksonville a few years back and it was basically dumb luck it didn't collapse. This looked like a direct hit.
