QOTD: How Should Jeep Fight Back Against Ford?

Earlier today, I gave you my take on how Jeep should fight off the challenge posed to the Wrangler from the new Ford Bronco.

Now it’s your turn.

I don’t need a lot of words to set this up. It’s pretty self-explanatory. If you were in charge of Jeep, or just the Wrangler team, what would you do, both right now and in the near and long term, to fight back? Product changes? Just a marketing boost? Something else.

Pretend you’re Mike Manley for a minute and give us your take on how you’d push back against a rival invading a space you practically owned.

You know the drill.

Tim Healey grew up around the auto-parts business and has always had a love for cars — his parents joke his first word was “‘Vette”. Despite this, he wanted to pursue a career in sports writing but he ended up falling semi-accidentally into the automotive-journalism industry, first at Consumer Guide Automotive and later at Web2Carz.com. He also worked as an industry analyst at Mintel Group and freelanced for About.com, CarFax, Vehix.com, High Gear Media, Torque News, FutureCar.com, Cars.com, among others, and of course Vertical Scope sites such as AutoGuide.com, Off-Road.com, and HybridCars.com. He’s an urbanite and as such, doesn’t need a daily driver, but if he had one, it would be compact, sporty, and have a manual transmission.

"How Should Jeep Fight Back Against Ford?" Jeep can't fight back against Ford. No one can. Ford is unbeatable. www.mercuryvehicles.com

No frills lower cost trim levels for all trail rated models. I'll suggest "Base Camp" as the nameology.

Jeep relies upon brand loyalty and attachment so the answer is simple- just work on building a better product than Ford.
