Following in the footsteps of those hilarious Germans, we’re going to be changing our name to better reflect a changing automotive landscape as it shifts to electrification.

From now on, we’re The Truth About Current.

I know, I know, change is hard. But EVs are eventually going to have the lion’s share of the market.

I mean, Volkswagen’s failed April Fool’s prank nearly fooled some people because of the future shift to EVs.

Not only that, but this is an easy change for us and for you. You can still type “TTAC.com” into your browser to access the site. We don’t need to change our logo, even!

Heck, MGMT’s “Electric Feel” came up on my Pandora shuffle as I wrote this post, so it just feels right.

I know you may be wondering if we’re sincere after the Volkswagen madness, and after our ill-advised attempt to change our name a year ago. I’ll answer that by saying you should check the date :)

Tim Healey grew up around the auto-parts business and has always had a love for cars — his parents joke his first word was “‘Vette”. Despite this, he wanted to pursue a career in sports writing but he ended up falling semi-accidentally into the automotive-journalism industry, first at Consumer Guide Automotive and later at Web2Carz.com. He also worked as an industry analyst at Mintel Group and freelanced for About.com, CarFax, Vehix.com, High Gear Media, Torque News, FutureCar.com, Cars.com, among others, and of course Vertical Scope sites such as AutoGuide.com, Off-Road.com, and HybridCars.com. He’s an urbanite and as such, doesn’t need a daily driver, but if he had one, it would be compact, sporty, and have a manual transmission.
