This soap is pH neutral too, so it won’t strip any wax on your car’s finish.

    Those LED headlight bulbs are 100% illegal. (I believe TTAC has covered this very subject.) There are *NO* street-legal LED bulbs that fit standard halogen sockets. None.

    (This is why the major bulb-makers don’t sell them; I think one of them might market LED bulbs as fog lamps, but NONE of them sell them for headlight applications.)

      There is at least one manufacturer that was able to get their LED beam pattern federally certified to be a halogen replacement. I’m pretty sure it wasn’t Engniek.

      So yes, these and most, LED replacements are illegal. TTAC shouldn’t be promoting them.

        If a manufacturer is advertising that their products are “Federally Certified” or “DOT Approved”, they are lying.

        The government does not certify or approve lighting products, so any claim of certification is inherently false. The NHTSA may, in the course of an enforcement action, perform their own tests, but there’s no certificate they write stating a product is passed. (A product may advertise they are “Manufactured in accordance to FMVSS 12.34.56” or “SAE Standard XYZ”, but I’d really want to see the testing docs over taking their word for it, given how unlikely it is.)

        Really, I’m not sure how it would be possible for an LED bulb to successfully mimic a Halogen. A projector assembly expects a linear filament emitting light in a 360 degree pattern in a certain location, with the only obstruction being some very thin support wire. A string of LED’s emitting a sufficient amount of light along that short little line would melt, as there’s no place for a heatsink.

        Every single LED “headlight bulb” I’ve seen is some variation of a “stick”; they are built in all sorts of different designs, but none of them even vaguely resemble how the proper bulb emits light.

    I can put in a good word for the 3M headlight restoration kit. From frosted to clear in less than an hour. Note that the headlights will look (uniformly) worse before they look better in the 3 step process.

    @Chuckrs. Thanks for the info

    Funny how Amazon keeps the word “legal” out of product questions or reviews for the LED headlight bulbs. LOL

    Look, I realize that this will be polarizing, but why does a car need a garbage can? Don’t get into my car with food. Don’t get into my car with a drink. Don’t bring garbage or anything that will create garbage. As i say to my wife, I don’t drive around in the kitchen so don’t eat in my car. She doesn’t understand that though as her vehicle looks a like a homeless person lives in it.

      Your car and my car don’t need a garbage can. Others might. I’m picturing the in-laws minivan with their bundle of kids. They need a garbage can.

      “Look, I realize this will be polarizing, but why does a car need the ability to significantly exceed the speed limit?” Different people have different needs.

      Also, there are other forms of garbage in a vehicle besides food and beverages. Tissues, receipts, wet wipes, whatever.

      Certainly there are people that will use a trash can consistently, and therefore be able to keep their car clean and tidy.

      Because many people, myself included, feel that a few crumbs or the possibility of a spill are worth it for the convenience of having food or beverage with them on a long trip, especially if they have limited time.
