Just a quick note. Yes, comments are still broken. Yes, I am aware. No, sending angry comments and emails isn’t going to speed up the pace of the improvements. No, you have not been banned (except for Z71_Silvy, who made multiple user accounts, in violation of our rules, and was summarily sent packing.)
One thing that will make it faster is to refrain from posting the same comment multiple times if yours doesn’t show up. Right now, I am reduced to manually rescuing your comments from the spam filter. Please do not clog up the queue even further by posting the same thing multiple times. In unrelated news, there sure is a lot of cheap Viagra for sale.
EDIT: For testing purposes, I am going to leave the filter/queue alone until the end of the day. This is to see what is still being captured and what is being approved. Again, nobody is being banned or censored, do not re-post your comment multiple times if it does not show up.
so how about now? let me know
I get emails that say I can “Expand, lengthen and enlarge easily.” But I assume those are directed at Chinese market customers who want to come with length in their S60L.
Silvy is no loss at all.
We also found lots of Moncler jackets for sale, which is nice, considering that the label’s brand of puffies cost as much as a Burberry trench.
I also remember receiving comments on my old fashion blog where the commenter said they liked something I wrote, but then said something that looked like they disagreed with me, but didn’t really read the post at all…
In my head — it’s a fun place — the spammer was walking beside me pointing out something on their clipboard, suggesting how I should improve or expand upon something.
Anyway, I looked at the email and URL they left, and in the trash it went.
Now, who wants some Ray-Bans? There’s also cookies and punch by the door. Yes.
I haven’t heard of Moncler! What’s a puffy, a coat?
Yes! They’re coats and jackets filled with down, encased in a thin material that is then stitched in such a manner that echoes the Michelin Man. Some are quilted for a more fabulous, put-together look, some are stitched more thoroughly to reduce the Michelin vibe, all are meant to keep you warm and cozy.
I do like a diamond-quilt simple jacket (no filling). Very versatile!
Those coats sound like the GORE-TEX coat from Seinfeld. I don’t see many people wearing them these days around here at least.
Have a look: http://store.moncler.com/us/men/outerwear
Not the most understated of outerwear, eh? Really only the diamond quilt and herringbone non-puffy ones work for me (maybe the argyle geant), and still there’s too much emphasis on hood. And the price is nuts!
Corey-
Cameron is right about those coats. The down jackets are popular right now. I have no use for them, but the yoga clothing brands my wife seems to like so much sell similar coats. She has two, plus a similarly styled vest. I’m sure it’s not the same level of quality as Moncler, but I don’t think she’d wear a $1000 coat while raking leaves or going for a run.
It’s definitely for the snow bunny set, though there are some I’d consider if my wallet was thicker.
I will see if I notice the puffy this year. I thought that had all gone away around 2005, really. More pea coats and etc now.
If I’m in a $2000 coat, I will be doing nothing but being very careful with it – and they don’t look dressy so you can’t use them for those occasions. I’m just too practical to spend house payment(s) on a coat, lol.
Nice.
Ya know, spam and eggs is quite good….unlike most of my comments.
Still love the site guys.
What about egg, bacon, and spam? Or egg, bacon, sausage, and spam? How about spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, baked beans, spam, spam, spam and spam?
Not a word to the Vikings.
“What do you mean ‘Uughh’!? I DON’T LIKE SPAM!”
Alaskans like spam.
I’m partial to Taylor Ham, myself. Gimme a pork roll, egg, and cheese on a Kaiser Bun!
Now you’ve made me hungry =8-) .
-Nate
Did someone say porkroll egg and cheese?
Oh how I wish, that my life was so uncomplicated ,that a few hiccups at the TTAC comment section could drive my stress level higher.
Your doing a great job Derek. The techies will figure it out. For now, I, for one can live with it.
+1 Derek is doing some true grunt work.
Agree, and nobody’s payin’ nothin’ to read or comment here.
Besides, aren’t the comments entirely handled by WordPress’ tech and isn’t TTAC just another of their subscribers? It would seem that TTAC’s owner(s) bear the responsibility of yanking WordPress’ chain, not Derek.
While TTAC does run WordPress software, WordPress doesn’t host it or provide any technical services. (I run WP myself on several sites.) If everyone running WP was having comment issues — well, we’re talking roughly 20 percent of the entire Web, and if 20 percent of the entire Web was having comment issues, there would be suicide on a Guyanese scale.
Some big-name sites do use WP’s VIP hosting: Consumerist, all the Cheezburger stuff.
And yes, I’ve had to deal with comment issues before. But I have only about 40,000 comments to deal with, compared with the several zillion here, and the structure was simpler.
Thanks for the clarification, I’m stone ignorant about hosting.
Yeah, we’ll live. Shame about Z71Silvy’s sock puppets…I was starting to miss his insane anti-Ford rants but we still have Deadweight et al.
Did you know how Z71-Silvy was connected to the industry?
Some of things he posted could only have come from someone from inside GM, above the assembly level. I don’t know who he is but I did double-check on the facts of some of his rants through people I know, and by God!, he was right.
I’m neutral. Neither for nor against anyone ranting and raging for or against anything on their agenda they want to promote.
The ones worth reading, I read. The ones baffling us with BS or proclaiming to know all about everything and pronouncing what is good for us, I skip.
HDC…..The dude may of been had a GM connection. I can say for certainty he was not sanctioned by GM.
mikey, I don’t know who he is/was/or will be. But some of the things he posted were mean-spirited but true about Ford and others.
There was no doubt he promoted GM’s interest in spite of some major GM shortcomings he conveniently chose to minimize and downplay.
Still, I prefer to have some truth-telling, no matter how bad or painful, over the sanctimonious preaching of the ego-maniacal academia and self-aggrandizing bean counters who haven’t spend a day doing battle in the arena of the real world.
If those clowns had ever been in a position to make the hard choices, they would be the first to tell you that reciting “facts” does not make it so, since people in the driver seat often interpret the facts differently from ignorant bystanders in the peanut gallery.
HDC..Well said… The folks you describe so well, I refer to as the “We know whats best for you” crowd.
mikey, I believe that everyone has a right to publish their views. It is only those intolerant of the views of others that I despise.
Maybe that is because I am older than dirt and have seen these idealists/theorists fail in the practical/pragmatic world before during my lifetime.
Or maybe it is their ideals that seek to take so much of what I worked so hard for all these years away from me and mine in order to give to those who never broke sweat or had to think for themselves.
Hell, maybe it is all of the above!
At least none of it is mandatory reading. Not even my comments.
According to Silvy (or Matt), he worked for Minneapolis PD. He changed his username so many times as well as his brand affiliation. At least that’s what I’ve observed over that past 9 years. He had P71 in his username originally, so I thought
Interesting. Thx.
TEXN3: as a Minneapolitan, I have to say that explains a lot.
From what I could tell, he was an animal control officer and EMT for a Minneapolis suburb. Couldn’t figure out where the Ford hate came from – I wonder if it was related to the Ford Twin Cities plant closing?
The P71 guy was clearly agitated that the Panther platform had been retired. Hell hath no fury like the enthusiast scorned, the jilted lover who resents not being appreciated.
He posted under at least two handles — I know because I caught him. But I wasn’t under the impression that he was also the Silvy nutjob; if he was, then I missed that.
He may have been good at writing up GM, I’ll give him that. He owned too many FoMOCo products to be a GM salaried employee. Such things are frowned upon by higher-up GM managment.
IHateCars (aka Vagina Hurt) –
The difference between Silvy, who irrationally hated/bashed Ford, and I, is that –
I RATIONALLY hate/bash
Ford…
…Acura…
…Cadillac…
…Lincoln Coach Works…
…Nissan…
…Volkswagen…
…Fiat (but not Chrysler or Dodge or Jeep)…
…and many more.
RATIONALLY.
Now, go nurse your vaginitis.
do they make a good cream for that?
@PonchoIndian – depends on what caused the “unbalance”.
Silvy was a troll but with that being said, there are a large number of astroturf type marketing that does go on. I read somewhere that 1/3 of online reviews are false and originate from marketers. Most apparently are indirectly employed by companies since no one wants to admit to being part of that marketing game.
@Deadweight: Try a cup of decaf, buddy….it’ll take the edge off.
I honestly don’t know how one can “hate” a car company…but there you go. Maybe you should get out more.
Why do you keep insulting me (at least implicitly) for having and expressing fervent opinions?
It’s one thing if you think I have some sort of ulterior motive and that my opinion as expressed is insincere, and if that’s the case, let everyone see your proof.
But if my subjective opinion about the merit of any vehicle, no matter how strongly expressed, bother you as much as they seem to, maybe you lack conviction in what you think you know and/or believe.
The expression of strong opinions and the transaction of fervent debate are good for the marketplace of ideas.
Wait until the S550 is at least a year into production before you pull that trigger. Maybe 1.5 years so you get that Plant Vehicle Team / Variability Reduction Team / Warranty ‘Quarter Back’ results goodness.
I haven’t disappeared, and I should probably comment more so I don’t lose all this industry knowledge.
Tres-
I’m waiting two model years. I might wait longer if I wanted a convertible. It’s been a b!tch for some.
2017/18 gives me enough time with my boring C-Max too. I also think there will be engine updates within the next few years.
bb:
The ‘R’ track pack (SVT) and it’s various engine options will be a 16MY now due to some delays. So a few years will yield that as well.
Christ on a stick,
If you miss silvy and you think DW is a hater, you got B&B issues, son.
If silvy had any industry connections, it was because he tongued some guy’s anus on a GM fanatical forum. I may love me some Body on Frame goodness, but that guy was a flat out f*cking troll.
If anything, I’ve been much more critical of Cadillac, Acura & BMW (and brutal regarding the MB CLA & Infinity Q50), than Ford as of late.
I am admittedly very critical of many latest gen vehicles, but I view that as a virtue, especially in an era of slop-knobbery auto journalism & extremely sophisticated (and quite cynical marketing), and especially when my criticisms hit the mark.
In addition to my balanced criticism of the brands listed above, I’ve actually stated I’ll probably replace my current ride with a 2015 Mustang 6MT, and that I’d most likely buy a Ford Fusion if I had to buy a fwd Camcord type sedan (I don’t, though).
Glad you’ve not disappeared, Tres.
I have to say, it sucked having my comments eaten on my own Piston Slap question.
Thankfully, it was Thanksgiving and I could waste time.
Derek, it can’t be that complicated
What makes you qualified to make that statement? Things don’t get fixed by waving a magic wand.
Logically: There is a coding defect in the spam filter or the configuration of the spam filter has changed on the TTAC web server. If you can rule out a configuration change or mistake on your side (which I am leaning toward) then you simply may have found a software defect in WordPress, or of your use/implementation of WordPress. The next logical step, other than to check logs which should already have been done, is to find a comment example and attempt to reproduce the problem. If you can consistently reproduce the problem you can write up a nice bug report to whomever supports WordPress.
“Logically: There is a coding defect in the spam filter or the configuration of the spam filter has changed on the TTAC web server.”
Depends on if the filtering is outsourced. TTAC might not actually have any control over antispam algorithms. Derek mentions they use WP/Akismet; it’s possible they (Akismet) tweaked said algorithm recently.
IIRC (and it’s been a loooong time since I looked at this) Akismet gets the final say in what gets through, despite whatever whitelisting you may do in advance.
It’s one of the reasons why some sites have moved to meta-moderation in lieu of antispam. MM has it’s own issues (tyranny of the majority) though.
“Things don’t get fixed by waving a magic wand.”
One more fantasy bites the dust ;)
I disagree Lou, what about the tow figures used by the major pickup manufacturers.
I’ve even heard the Pope was going to dedicate a Sainthood for the tow wand fairy.
I suppose they will call it Saint Ram 3500.
The day this Saint will be observed will be April 1st.
What feedback are you getting from WordPress? Are their other sites having similar issues or is it a unique to TTAC problem. What are they suggesting as a possible cause and cure?
“Working on it” = “It can’t be that complicated” when no other info is provided
We use an industry standard commercial spam filter (Akismet) and that it’s flagging comments. The IT team is doing what they can to make sure that legit comments get through the filter. If you’d like to talk to the IT team, email editors at ttac dot com
Akismet… Oh how we (the technologically informed) love to hate thee! Akismet has been causing mischief on TheDailyWTF for years. He’s a mean, miserly ol’ filter that *lives* to cause others pain.
And to what I hope is Lie2Me simply being a jerk and baiting DK: http://xkcd.com/1425/
If you were serious, you just lost serious Eirik karma points.
I wasn’t being a jerk, I have a technical understanding beyond “we’re working on it” so when I suggested that, “it can’t be that complicated” I was serious based on what info was offered, zero. You can keep your karma BS points, whoever you are
Oh, it can be that complicated. And it often is.
Filters can be a black art, and honestly it’s sometimes not worth filtering at all and instead moving to a meta-moderation systems. Even tech forums like, say, Ars Technica, don’t filter.
Yeah, it’s taken me several months to get my servers’ Bayesian email spam filters working to a point where I’m comfortable raising the weights to a level that the email gets discarded altogether instead of being flagged as [SPAM]. I apologize for that ridiculously lengthy sentence.
Here, a devoured comment leads to some rambling bitterness from a non-paying, ad-blocking “consumer” of TTAC content. At my work, it leads to revenue loss and rage in the management… I do my best to avoid both of those.
(I’m a web applications developer who happens to be the unlucky schmuck in charge of the entire LAMP stack.)
“Here, a devoured comment leads to some rambling bitterness from a non-paying, ad-blocking “consumer” of TTAC content.”
Is there another option to “non-paying consumer of TTAC”? If there isn’t a “paying option” trying to make us out to be a bunch of freeloaders is self-serving arrogance. Do you invite friends over for diner then call them a bunch of leaches for eating your food?
I’m illustrating the difference in severity of false-positive spam matches. Taking a few days to adjust filters/patch bugs for a site like TTAC seems perfectly acceptable. If we were all, say, brokers working at a HFT firm paying hundreds of thousands of dollars a year for software with absurd SLAs, delays impinged upon our trades would need to be resolved ASAP–a scale measured in minutes contrasted to days.
Instead, we’re commenting on a blog about cars.
It’s always “not that complicated” to the non-technical. Everything’s like 3 hours of work, tops.
Where’s Nick Burns, that condescending iT guy, when you need him?
Do we know what happened to “bigtruckseriesreview”? His comments may not have been factually accurate, but at least they were funny.
I’m subscribed to his YouTube channel and he’s still putting out videos, so he didn’t meet his demise in a fiery SRT crash or anything like that. Yes, his comments were controversial (and entertaining), but they were never ban-worthy. So I, too, wonder where he went…
@Kyree,
I noticed he disappeared almost immediately the same day Jack announced his resignation or whatever it was that happened. I don’t understand why that would have anything to do with him staying or leaving but it definitely happened the same time.
>> I noticed he disappeared almost immediately the same day Jack announced his resignation …
Are you suggesting that Jack and BT are one and the same??? :)
I remember BT’s flight video, posted by JB. New readers actually thought JB was the guy in the video.
LOL, no, for one they are of two very different races. I did notice though that when Jack posted he was leaving, he did not comment at all which I thought was rather unusual. After that date I think I saw maybe one comment from him if that. He has to be banned, I can’t think of any other reason why he would not be around. I don’t see why he would be banned, but he must be.
Yin and Yan?
Darth Vader versus Yoda?
I’m your father Luke…………
Maybe BTSR was Jack’s Tyler Durden from “Fight Club”
I was wondering the same thing myself. He was often wrong about geology (which is ironic considering that’s what he majored in), but he made being wrong an accident worth seeing.
I’ve forgotten how miserable the comments section used to be with that mad-scientist guy and a few others. Venom V12 is getting back to his trolling ways, but otherwise, it’s still a pleasant place.
I honestly think that the largeet whiners about others on TTAC are car salespeople or those occupying similar occupations, because they detest objective criticism or brand loyalty/disloyalty, as it messes with their confirmation bias that’s also programmed into their occupation and income bias.
BT was one of the most interesting commentators here, regardless as to whether anyone shared his preferences in cars or politics, but some people were always too rattled by his enthusiasm over rip roaring V8s and Dodge/Jeep products, despite the fact he was a positive, enthusiastic person, to never let an opportunity go by to get in as many digs as they could at him.
My trolling ways, what the hell crap are you talking about? First of all I barely come on this site or post because unlike you I am employed, and of course to 14 year olds like yourself anyone who has a dissenting opinion other than yours of course is trolling. I post like one or two comments on here maybe once a week and are all based on fact. If you don’t like it, go stand in front of a speeding bus, you won’t be missed, in fact I don’t even remember you at all to be honest.
Let’s be honest, the people that call other people trolls are the cowards and pansies of society. They don’t know how to formulate an argument or win an argument so of course the natural coward’s way out it to call someone a troll. Go take your toys and go home. Don’t forget to have your mommy wipe your bottom and maybe chew your food up in her mouth before she feed it to you also.
I rest my case.
If you bring a perspective that others don’t have, then please share it. But feel free to re-read your previous contributions to TTAC. You come across as aggressive and disagreeable without the reasoning to back it up. And this is not the first time you’ve thrown insults at others either. Kyree Williams and Principal Dan are the model commentators, and we would be wise to follow their examples.
I thought he got sucked into a Hellcat intake.
I personally know of seven people who left ttac, for reasons I know not. I knew these people from my days of affiliation with the new-car retail business.
I believe I’m the only one left of that group of readers, who originated from a common core of dealers/owners, sales managers, regional distributors and managers in CA, AZ, TX and AL.
I’m sad and feel so alone……
I’ll get you a copy of “All My Friends are Dead” to cheer you up.
bbal, I’ve known this group of people since the early ’80s when my brothers got in to the game.
Some of them progressed over their careers and were pretty high up in Toyota/America, GM West Coast Distribution, Ford Southwest Region Sales.
Each had their job to do to win over the hearts and minds of the buyers, but good old competition never displaced their camaraderie. I remember one summer we were all at Big Bear Lake for a week. It was a beautiful thing.
I doubt anything will cheer me up. When I wrote comments, I always kept in mind how it would be received by them, this core group of seven, plus me.
Since you know them outside of TTAC, perhaps it gives you an opportunity to talk to them through other means.
I don’t think I personally know anyone that posts here, but I would be dissapointed if some of them stopped posting. It’s not like I can give anyone a call or text if they left.
bbal, I do know them personally and do stay in touch with them (periodically).
The guy in Long Beach, CA, is the Golf partner of one of my brothers, at Torrey Pines.
Did email all of them though and told them I hadn’t seen any of their comments recently (since I know their handles).
Each was non-committal and basically evaded answering my question directly.
I just let it drop rather than make an issue out of it since I do see their handles on other sites.
Maybe they just lost interest in ttac because of personnel changes or maybe some of the other B&B rubbed them the wrong way. I don’t know. It’s hard to be that high up on the ladder and have to read what some people are pushing.
It’s not like I’m selling ttac. I have no agenda. Just an deep-seated interest in cars and trucks these days.
Then again, I’ve seen lots of good guys come and go from the other boards over the years as well. Totally American, Eric in MN, jj edmund, ScoutII, Cubbyfan, Ike G., Troy, and Binderr Dundett were just a few I followed.
They were no-nonsense guys. Told it like it was. No BS. I like that.
Now I want to play Torrey Pines again. Since I haven’t played in almost three years, I might shoot 200 there.
There are certain commenters I miss as well. I think it speaks to what TTAC is though. It’s an ever changing auto industry blog/website. That goes for the editors/contributors and the B&B. It is a rare corner of the internet where I read the articles and comments.
bbal, I must confess that my Golf game is so, so, so bad that my brothers have asked me not to play.
I can never manage to get that little ball to go where I want it to go.
BTW, I donated my Taylor-mades to our church several years ago to be raffled off. I’m sure someone is enjoying those finely-balanced instruments, somewhere.
Right wing trolling not paying what it once did?
I didn’t think BTR was right-wing. He was opinionated, sure. But so are you.
He was certainly right wing, and opinionated as well. What he wasn’t was insulting or spiteful. I didn’t agree with him much, but I always thought that he comported himself well.
I believe everyone should be heard, whether we like or agree with what they espouse, or not.
Those too obnoxious or omnipotent in their imagined knowledge of the industry can easily be mitigated by skipping over their comments.
That said, ttac is a Canadian board…… Canada is not America where everything has to be politically correct.
@highdesertcat – “That said, ttac is a Canadian board…… Canada is not America where everything has to be politically correct.”
REALLY?
That is the age old belief that Canadians are nicer than Americans.
PC tends to be a government thing.
I don’t care for politically correct since it stifles communication(unless the message is racist, sexist or any kind of “ist”).
Lou_BC, I got the impression that the boys and girls at ttac are VERY sensitive about PC, ever since Robert Farago. But that could have something to do with the policy laid down by Vertical Scope.
Ultimately, it is all about the money. If comments alienate eyeballs because of lack of PC, it also means that the advertisers will lose eyeballs, hits and potential sales.
My philosophy is to conduct one’s self the way I would expect others to conduct themselves at my house. I am the foreigner on this board.
On American boards that is not always the case since “Free Speech” and “Freedom of Expression” largely have been pushed aside for any and all but the Uber-Left Liberal Democrats now in power, who wish to stiffle free speech unless it is theirs.
That causes both sides to let it fly on American boards.
Lou_BC, I have lost several replies to your comment to the wordpress gremlin. Sorry!
@HighDesertCat
I do agree that “PC” gets used to stifle views but that is not mutually exclusive to the left side of the fence.
The “free speech” types that complain about blog deletions tend to be self-serving or self-righteous and are clueless to 2 very real facts:
1. These boards are privately owned entities existing in a public domain.
The owner get to control what is said.
2. Free speech is NOT free. The cost of free speech is responsibility. One is responsible to exercise speech in a manner that does not hurt anyone else.
@HighDesertCat – PC as a tool to stifle speech is not an exclusive tool of those on the left side of the fence.
Free speech is not free.
The cost is responsibility.
Abuse it and you will lose it.
This site is a private entity existing in a public setting. People forget that fact along with the cost of responsibility.
I thought the spybot ate my post. sorry for the regurgitation.
Perhaps the comment filter glitch decided to disallow excessive use of CAPS. He might be trying to post, but we would never know.
I miss BTSR. I agreed with him on many things, although our choice of vehicles couldn’t be more different.
Although I’m a part of the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy, BTSR would do well to avoid Fox News like I do.
I hope he returns here someday.
I miss BTS, his comments were overstatement but funny. He had to have been laughing as he typed.
The other I miss is Doc Olds. There is a guy who has the depth of “been there, done that”.
Hoping Tresmonos sticks around.
Think of all my fans! :)
Not sure if this is the case with others, but when my comment doesn’t go through, the browser takes quite awhile to refresh. I’ve had stuff get blocked before, and it refreshes quickly, and gives me the “waiting moderation” above my comment. Now it just generates a link to my comment in the address bar, but there’s nothing there. I’m no internet mekanik, but this seems like a software issue instead of some filter.
“this seems like a software issue instead of some filter”
Roger that. Acts just like our payroll program after one of it’s effing periodic updates. Pure schiz one minute (like putting one of Sajeev’s comments on two different posts) then normal the next.
Crabspirits….Did you lose a “junk yard” story? If you did, it really sucks, I enjoy them emensly.
Yup,me too! Since what is now considered ‘junk’ was once the latest and the greatest.
Two of them.
Nice one! The Camper one, ;).
Quite easy to find Mikey. Click on your name where it says Howdy, Mikey. You’ll find the story (great one, on the VW Camper) in the pending comments section.
There is also one on the GLC.

I just used this link and found nothing….
Being a real live computer dummy isn’t only embarrassing , it’s frustrating too .

“except for Z71_Silvy, who made multiple user accounts”
Do you do more than the most basic of IP lookup? I’m thinking of the odd case where more than one member of a household is a fan of Bertel.
I have at least a dozen or more users on my Home-Area Wi-Fi network core IP address, but I think I am probably the only one who visits ttac. Most of the other users are even older than I am.
So you brought up an excellent point; same core IP address, different tags, different PCs, could be different people.
One last thing, I would like to sing the praises of my Dell XPS-27 Core-I7 QuadCore PC which has replaced my entire six-PC network of Pentium-D Windows-XP/Pro-based H-P Media PCs, which serves my users even faster than the old system did.
Considering an IP can change whenever your DHCP lease is up, and that many people are behind network-address-translation firewalls (either at work or via a IP-constrained or mobile ISP), IP-blocking is not terribly helpful any longer.
He admitted it.
Something, something, lost posts, something, something, irony, something, something, thread about comments still broken.
Most of us will be patient – this site is too good to not keep coming back for.
Ditto, who cares right? Based on all the good we get back. Pls., no disqus, pls.
If all you want to do is recycle industry PR flack, you are doing just fine.
“Free” comments and immediate posts are a sure way to succeed.
I’ve been wandering ‘net sites for quite some times now (different topics, places, languages too.)
Keep the “free” instant posting ang go on with fame!
Thanks for the good work, it induces.
The above was what I was talking about here yesterday re: my fashion blog! The cadence aims to resemble a person, the comment makes it look like the person enjoyed reading your work, but it isn’t all that it appears to be.
I presume this one’s a parody, yes?
Probably wishful thinking, but any plans for a notification system? I.e. if I post a comment, I’d love to be notified if someone responded to it.
I want this too. I’d comment here a lot more often if it felt like being part of a conversation.
All you have to do is provide the site with a valid e-mail address, and check off “Notify me of followup comments via e-mail” and “Notify me of new posts by email.” Works just fine for me.
The picture just makes me want to grab a skillet, some eggs, bread, cheese and put the heat to it. Damn good breakfast with a bit of horseradish sauce to open the nasal passages in the morning.
And to keep people from bothering you for too long!
That’s what I’m talking about!
Lets be honest, the comments have been broken from a lot of contributors for a very long time…oh way..its a computer error.
I’ll show myself out stage left, thanks and remember to tip your waitress.
I gave up posting anything, seems like a waste of time esp if you nothing really important to say.
On the side note future is coming as predicted. Lockheed found a way to put a fusion reactor in every car the car. Toyota may take over Lockheed after all.
@Inside Looking Out,
I read that the Skunk Works figured this one out.
I do know the US has some large cars.
What I read is the reactor will be the size of a prime mover and a large container.
A large car is a little over the top.
Maybe one day soon.
Al. never forget Moore’s law when making predictions. Fusion already exist btw, I own one.
Ford had that figured out in the 1950s; at least with a fission reactor — the Ford Nucleon.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Nucleon
However, no one was willing or able to make a reactor that small.
Ah, the “Atoms for Peace” program. Such promise….
The Ford Nucleon was interesting enough for its nuclear powerplant, but the concept also had the occupants sitting in a fully reclined driving position; it would have been only a inch taller than the Ford GT-40. It never progressed past the scale model phase, the scale model (with it’s vertical fins clipped for some reason) is displayed in the Henry Ford Museum.
I started working on a computer model to make a paper model for my display; but never finished it:

Cameron; I think Charles James made the first puffy coat back in the thirties.
He is the show at the Met this year and he was Amuricas first couture designer.
Back to cars; I started with a 1970 Fiat Spyder that I had to rebuild the starter every 2 months
Or so and needed a 12 inch extension on a ratchet to get at the bolts.
It was TINY and gorgeous with real wood. Once got a flat on LSD by the lake and 4 guys
From Kentucky lifted it up to change the tire so they could flirt with my gf who strangely looked like Sophia Loren. Good times.
I wanna party with this guy.
FWIW, “www.ttac.com” is broken as well. I had to –horrors!– type out the whole full name address.
Not here. I usually skip the extra key swipes. ttac.com suffices.
Honestly, i didn’t even know that URL existed. I thank you sir for freeing up likely hours of typing over my future life.
I just type “t” and the first thing that shows up is TTAC, which is bookmarked anyway.
I’m actually learning a bit by reading all these Tech posts ~ I can usually recognize a computer when I trip over it if the lights are on and last year I amazed my self by assembling one out of trash can parts , it still works great but cannot be up graded to Windows 7 so I’m kinda stuck right now .
Keep the good comments coming and if The Editors were reading : you’re DOING FINE ! .
