Timothy Cain’s sales numbers for the UK provide a pretty sobering snapshot of Lotus and its quest for survival. Year-to-date, the brand is dead last in the UK sales rankings, outsold by such luminaries as Perodua, Ssangyong and Proton.
Even now-defunct Saab is handily beating Lotus. In October, 16 Saabs were sold, versus 2 Lotus cars. YTD, 231 Saabs have been sold versus 122 Lotus cars. Time for some drastic action, no?

Hell, if I 200 1990 Yugos in a warehouse I could outsell Lotus.
I don't see Caterham or Morgan on the list, but surely this is the sort of volume they can compete with.
Heck, Morgan's up to about 800 a year.
Oh, come on Derek. I would hope that you know that DRB stopped Lotus production for months while they were "reevaluating" the company. There is currently a waiting list for the Exige V6, which has only recently restarted production. I'm not saying that Lotus is in a great spot, but to not even mention a massive production stoppage seems disingenuous when you are talking about YTD sales.
