Yesterday we showed off the profile of the 2014 Kia Forte. Now here’s the mug.

Unlike its twin the Hyundai Elantra, the Forte will come with either a 1.8-liter, four-cylinder engine with 148 hp and 131 lb-ft of torque or a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder with 173 hp and 154 lb-ft of torque. The base engine gets a choice of 6-speed transmissions, while the 2.0 is strictly a slushbox. Also borrowed from the Elantra is the selectable steering system.

Nice looking cars with lots of "features" that but they drive like the economy car they are.

@SC5door I drive a current Forte SX and once the tires were swapped from the factory Goodyears it doesn't drive bad at all.

I think Kia and Hyundai are doing wonderfully on desirability, content and reliability, but it's time they started really sweating the details and making their cars more enthusiast-oriented, so that they can sway the naysayers who would rather buy, say, a Subaru Imprezza or Volkswagen Jetta. The next-generation Hyundai Genesis sedan would be one such opportunity to improve on dynamics and REALLY make the car a 5-Series for less money. I'm so tired of hearing, "It's an excellent car, BUT..." I'm really rooting for this company...

  • Calrson Fan Jeff - Agree with what you said. I think currently an EV pick-up could work in a commercial/fleet application. As someone on this site stated, w/current tech. battery vehicles just do not scale well. EBFlex - No one wanted to hate the Cyber Truck more than me but I can't ignore all the new technology and innovative thinking that went into it. There is a lot I like about it. GM, Ford & Ram should incorporate some it's design cues into their ICE trucks.
  • Michael S6 Very confusing if the move is permanent or temporary.
  • Jrhurren Worked in Detroit 18 years, live 20 minutes away. Ren Cen is a gem, but a very terrible design inside. I’m surprised GM stuck it out as long as they did there.
