Happy New Year To All At TTAC
Allow me to be the first (unless someone in Australia beats me to it) to wish any and all a happy and prosperous 2011. May all your whishes (except the devious ones) come true.
I am writing this from Toyko, where we are 14 hours ahead of the East Coast.
Let’s hear it from the Best & Brightest around the world as we enter into a new year, wherever you may be. Hawaii, you’ll be last in line, as usual.
Bertel Schmitt comes back to journalism after taking a 35 year break in advertising and marketing. He ran and owned advertising agencies in Duesseldorf, Germany, and New York City. Volkswagen A.G. was Bertel's most important corporate account. Schmitt's advertising and marketing career touched many corners of the industry with a special focus on automotive products and services. Since 2004, he lives in Japan and China with his wife <a href="http://www.tomokoandbertel.com"> Tomoko </a>. Bertel Schmitt is a founding board member of the <a href="http://www.offshoresuperseries.com"> Offshore Super Series </a>, an American offshore powerboat racing organization. He is co-owner of the racing team Typhoon.

I want to wish all here and your families the best for the New Year. Whether or not we have agreed on the subject at hand, remember that discourse increases knowledge, and I hope you will all agree that this is a good thing. We face many challenges as a nation in the future, and only through intelligent analysis of possible solutions can we hope to solve the problems, automotive and political, we are presented with.
