Vacation or not, the CC show goes on. Autojunkie nailed the 442; congratulations. Now nail this one; but not too quickly, please.

Just because you’re in France, I’m going to say a Citroen 2CV or Dyane But really, that’s just a shot in the dark.
Beat me to it. But to be different, I’ll say it’s a 2CV van.
I didn’t even know about the vacation being in France and I was going to say 2CV. Like the car, I was too slow.
I think you are spot on with the 2CV.
Sure looks like an old school tailpipe to me.
Beat me to it.
Citroen 2CV
How about a BMW Isetta?
By the way Paul, are you picking up any Peugeot, Alfa, or Citroen literature? My car obsession is so bad, I would be going to all the car dealerships and loading up on brochures, and never mind the more mainstream attractions!
Just because Paul is in Paris doesn’t mean that’s where the clue came from. I’ll guess a ’64 Ford Galaxie with a funky aftermarket tailpipe extension.
Easy peasie
Renault 5 or Renault Le Car as you guys would call it.

+1. You must also note 1st gen R5
I’d even venture to say it’s a R4, but I don’t remember them to have holes for the jack or rear torsion bar.
It could also be the Symca Mr. Niedermeyer wrote about some years ago.
In any case I guess it’s a frenchy thing, that hole may be one of the following: rear transverse torsion bars or for putting the jack. My car memory says Renault.
Saw lots of these sidepipes as a child on vacation in Spain. Thought of a Citroen first, after some consideration I’m pretty sure these belong to a Renault 4, though.
First post on TTAC, btw. Been enjoying this great site for several weeks now and have read most auf Paul’s great Curbside Classics. Greetings from Germany!

Pic lightened a bit.
And dinner.
Gratis.
Don’t drool on the shanty floor.
It warps the floor.
That had better be the Citroen C2V I’ve been demanding for some time now! Either that, or the model during WW2, the Traction Avant!
