Toyota still hasn’t announced its final numbers for the 2009 fiscal year that ended on March 31. And the musings continue. Previously, a loss was assumed as certainty. Come on, how can a car company the size of Toyota escape carmageddon and pedal-gate unscathed? Then, there were speculations that Toyota would report a slight gain, of say, $500m. Now, there are people who think it will be more …

Toyota’s group operating profit for the last fiscal could reach around $1.1b, says Japan’s Yomiuri newspaper today, two days before Toyota will announce final numbers May 11.

Without saying where they got the information, the paper writes that strong sales at home and rigorous cost-cutting are the reason behind Toyota beating is own forecast. At least that’s what The Yomiuri thinks.

We’ll know more on Tuesday.

They are only thrilled.. that they coughed up 16mil to the NHTSA for admitting nothing to the public. AND.. getting away with it. On top of.. Cheap lease rates on the same related garbage going back 4yrs.

Toyota is dead to me. I don't care how much they earn.

Toyota: Proof it takes more than a curiously-timed US government witch hunt to bring a good company down. And, for balance... Gov't Motors: Proof it takes more than federal bailouts, and aforesaid government investigations into your competitors, to save a dying fraud of a company.

I was just reading Popular Mechanics for this month / or next and there was an advertisement for the Rav4 2wd and the Equinox. If ya actually really intelligent and really have some sense.. Ya dont buy either. Both faaar too god damn big for the [BLEEP] job they cant do. Both offer a minimalistic amount of safety, performance and or reliability. Both represent model bloat in the categories they serve.. AND... Both companies have severe / serious issues that would push me away from buying either car.. or any related to the company / and or produced b EITHER COMPANY for the majority of my life. REGARDLESS of the marketing b.s. I wish to god.. I could actually go down to a STEALERSHIP and tell someone ACTUALLY IMPORTANT in that (Toyota or GM) [BLEEP] COMPANY.. and really tell that slimy gutless POS what I think of his companies policies on safety, design and corporate citizenship.
