Curbside Classic Clue

The last clue was a a bit tricky, what with the old round Chevy taillights grafted onto the ’76 (or whatever year) Nova. But Don C came through, and nailed it. Congratulations. Some folks’ creative impulses can make the CC Clue a bitch. Anyway, this one shouldn’t cause any head scratching; or will it?

I'm changing my answer - it's a '53 Packard. We aren't seeing the headlight, but rather a driving light in the grill.

I think you might be on the right track. The 51-53 Ford/Mercury Pickups have a different housing around the lens than in the photo.

Not a '53 Chevy. Dynamic has a damn good guess, but I think it's too cheap for the Packard.

It's a 1950 Ford, and the picture shows the center light. Not that I'm a specialist on old Fords (although my dad used to own a Ford Y and decades later a Sierra), but the answer was obvious: http://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/curbside-classic-1950-ford-a-true-love-story/

It's after the fact so I now know from your Curbside Classic post what it is though I would have never come up with the correct answer. My first thought was a Tucker, but even with your sleuthing skills I doubt you'd find one of those on the streets of Eugene.
