I promise that this will be the last Bobcat post on this Bobcat Thursday. I can only take so much of the seventies before giving myself stomach malaise. But all this Volt jingle business brings back that wonderful era when no self-respecting car ad was without a sick-making jingle, like this Bobcat gem. I tried, but failed to find a Bobcat dance routine; Sorry.

What markets did that play in? For the life of me (or what's left of it) I can't recall ever hearing it here in the Detroit or Lansing areas. Also, I broke down and listened to the Volt ad (another argument for avoiding strong drink). Any idea who that singer is? I'm guessing either Kate Micucci (Ted's girlfriend "Gooch" on Scrubs) or a really down & out Suzanne Vega. Tragic, really...
I lived in my home town of White Rock, BC at the time, so it may have been a Canadian commercial. We were only minutes from the border crossing (Peace Arch) so it could also have been on KVOS-TV Bellingham, WA.
I'm pretty sure that was a cougar they had roaring on top of the sign too.
Good fun, my wife was watching it with me and when it ended we both said "The sign of the cat!" Probably heard that ten thousand times growing up. Not sure how we got to Bobcat Thursday (I take a day off to go skiing and everything goes to hell!), but badge engineering the Pinto has to be one of history's greatest automotive exercises in futility.
