“Many commentators interpret this as a battle of egos, but that is a simplification of a much deeper human need to be attached to something meaningful that will persist long after you are gone from this Earth.”

—Ex-Tesla spinmeister and TTAC protagonist Darryl Siry on the cat fight between Martin Eberhard and Elon Musk

" ... a much deeper human need to be attached to something meaningful that will persist long after you are gone from this Earth" Hmmm, that sounds exactly like a battle of egos! Back to Spinmeister school for you Sir Siry. Other than that nit, Siry's story is interesting in that he pegs the actual idea for the Tesla sportscar with the wizards at AC Propulsion. Eberhard and Mush are arguing over who jumped hardest and first on AC's idea. Check out the linked Wired article as it is an interesting read.

Some people can't put the priorities of their company ahead of their fragile egos. Not to mention the effect this has on morale. Nice job, guys: this is exactly the kind of message a start up company needs to project to the rest of the world.

I've wanted one of those T-Zeros ever since I first saw a video of one doing a dragstrip launch -- and the only sound was the tires spinning and what sounded like the Batmobile's "turbines to speed" from the old TV show. AC Propulsion is the bomb.
