I guess my long-wearing Casio watches qualify me as an old fart too. I saw on some blog that now everyone carries a phone that shows the time and no one needs a wrist watch anymore. Peh.
That new Pepsi logo. God damn.
Actually, I've got a Casio "Oceanus" watch which has five motors and a radio connection which resets it to actual time on three continents (Asia, North America, Europe), allowing me with pinpoint accuracy to be late to meetings or to document others who are. From what I have seen, this watch is a very high quality unit, made of titanium with a sapphire crystal and incorporating a solar power system to charge its on-board battery and capacitors. It is unerringly accurate, has an analog display which can be read at night thanks to high quality "glow-in-the-dark" coatings. And the date numbers are large enough that my old(er) eyes can check the data most of the time. With an e-Bay price of $600 it was a relative bargain when compared to mechanical watches from that tiny country in the middle of Europe. CASIO Rules...
The good news is that Audi can't buy a championship like Steinbrenner could.
