@Visualry, So we should throw Gm and Chrysler billions of dollars for reasons of pride? Rewarding bad behavior never helped anyone, so no reason to start now. Pride??? C'mon!
If I were being hammered as hard as he is, I'd laugh too. It's a coping mechanism, and just goes to show that "BO" is not an inhuman robot - I totally understand this. A "puppet" wouldn't show such a reaction; 'it' would just spew "prepared statements".
Ummm..guys? HELLO!! Back to the topic at hand...like, maybe...oh, I don't know...CARS?? There are plenty of sites I can go read to bash the President. If I'm at TTAC, I'm obviously not interested in that discussion. Say what you will about him (and it is clear some of you already have), I do not envy the man for the job he stepped into. Regardless of what he does (or doesn't) do, it will forever be a no-win scenario for him. Agreed that bailing GM and Chrysler will be derided in public, but privately most will be relieved that the industry (and all of it's suppliers) will continue to exist.
When a video of the current president is posted, what do you think the topic of conversation will be?
