TOTALLY agree on the Don Rickles thing! -perfect. Unfortunately, I've met more than a few Brits who are just like him; -except they're not kidding. They go around criticizing everything that's not [s]British[/s]English, as if a priori inferior, AND THEN -go around lecturing everyone on how much more Polite the [s]Brits[/s]English are compared to the rest of the world. I guess they're Still really pissed at having lost their empire, and criticism and snobbery are the only things they excel at. (they're probably just jealous of the French being better at Communism, Civil Servant Strikes, Public Demonstrations and International Outcry. -Sometimes I swear the French are salivating over the next possible war so they can launch journalists in via artillery, grab their mikes and shout, "OH, MON DIEU!! -C'EST HORRR-REEEEBLEUUHH!!! TIENS; REGARDEZ-VOUS, CA!!! OYYYYY!".) -- ++Also, JC is a little two-faced. He rips the Gallardo in one TG review, and then a little while later, I think he Buys one, and in a more recent show, says it's great (LP640-4)

He may hate everyone and everything, but I still love the show. I almost spit out my drink when he called the French "cheese-eating surrender monkeys". Appropriate for a Citroen review? No. Funny? Hell yes. -ted

zerofoo: when did Clarkson review a Citroen with those words? I remember he characterized two different Renaults as such, but mainly in an ironic and playful sense. As a matter of fact, Clarkson has often stated how much he likes and admires France and the French, so I disagree when people say he hates everyone. I would say the most frequent object of his scorn is America and Americans. Check the archives of the Sunday Times if you need an example. Apart from his being totally funny, what I like about him are his incorruptible opinions on cars. He won't be bought, and is not afraid of pissing off car makers. So there is a similarity between Clarkson and TTAC, I would say.
