A British eBayer, selling a rather unusual car for the UK, describes one of the many flaws of his Ford Thunderbird 3.8:

SIDE WINDOW SMASHED DUE TO SOMEONE SMASHED IT.

Winner.

Still strange that it has an American license plate. I don’t know how it is in Britain (are there any US soldiers at all?) but in Germany, you don’t see any US license plates anymore. It’s been at least a decade since GI’s got special NATO license plates…I’d think that this is the same for all Europe. So either this car has just recently been imported (which begs the question as to why anyone would do that), or it hasn’t been used in years. Yes, no more NATO plates but the GI's must get British plates. I would guess if the car came over with a GI he may have given the AZ plates to the new owner or the present owner thought it would help it to sell with a US plate on it. While overseas I was surprised how many people love old American cars and will go to great lengths to make them look like they are still in the US, similar to what the ricer guy's do here in the US to Japanese cars. Many of the guy's I work with will leave a front British, German or Japanese plate on their cars after they return from overseas. No front plate is required here in SC.

What if the owner put the American plate on it just to look cool? Left it alongside the British plate on the front, like so many people do here in the US with their Audis and BMWs.

I came across a Chrysler K car in Scotland recently and as I had never seen one before it was fascinating, for about 3 minutes. Similiar reaction to a Chevrolet Cavalier in Fort William that had a snout so sharp it looked like it was designed to cut people off at the knees. Maybe its those brothel red velour interiors that does it. Why bother with a brothel when you can kerb crawl in your own.
