Today's UCOTD is a simple, straightforward one. This 2014 Toyota FJ Cruiser is unmodified and hasn't been taken off-road.

This Iceberg White FJ has about 80K miles on it, it's an automatic, and factory features include 17-inch wheels, rearview camera, CD player, cruise control, and A/C.

There's not a lot to add here -- this is a nine-year-old rig that's unmodified and decently equipped.

This is, shall we say, a cult vehicle. Those who like them are bonkers about them. For others they're a large helping of "meh".

I realize you can no longer buy these but if you've ever shopped a used Toy truck you soon realize the smart thing financially to do is just go buy a new one.

$40K for this gutless pooch w/crappy fuel economy that you can see out of? What a joke!

Ajla I think there is too much political momentum behind EVs for them to fail. The question is really about the adoption timeline. If I was a dedicated performance brand I'd be ride-or-die on ICE. If I had a credible hybrid program then I'd get some mileage out of that the rest of the decade. But otherwise I'd lean into EVs pretty hard. So I guess close to what Nissan is doing.
