@all: Thank you! But please don't applaud too much. Otherwise, it may entice me to get back to the below-the-waistline level ... and we don't want that, right?

Bertel -

"Siamalaise for GM: Citing the usual reasons, GM will shut their Thai plant for up to two months, the International Herald Tribune writes. GM’s Rayong plant has an annual capacity of 130,000 vehicles, and cranked out 93,000 units so far this year."

Why did you not mention that Toyota is doing the same think in Thailand?

"obese people have the right to two seats for the price of one on flights within Canada"

Does this mean real tall people get a free upgrade to first class, where a passenger gets more than Dachshund-size legroom?

This is really, really good stuff! But get that page counter fixed, for crying out loud. (Second sentence is not addressed to you, Bertel).

Indeed it would be a challenge to take Opel out of GM's worldwide operations. For instance the Brazilian engineering and design teams use lots of Opel designs for the Brazilian market and work closely with the Germans to develop new world platforms.

But I guess sooner or later they will have no option but to sell whatever they can. It will be interesting to see how they will make it work after Opel frees it self from the North American claws.
