Those foglights! Nooooo
January 10th, 2009 at 10:43 pm
Only the tuners can do that with the foglights.
For some reason I can’t edit my comment. Fix it, Farago!

It is a little busy in the front.
The same thought was running through my head when he was responsible for the Chrysler group.

C’mon Mercedes is preserving resources. They are longer running the tailpipes all the way out the back of the car, now they exhaust through the front fascia. Plus it should cut down on road rage, the exhaust fumes are guaranteed to lead to subdued drivers.
Seriously though… what is up with those fog lights? I don’t need drivers blinding me with even more lights!

It looks like quad exhaust tips are coming out the front!

Dieter is back in Detroit? He must love coney dogs.

n’thing the face exhausts. I liked the design initially, and I still like the overall shape, but now I’m with snafu: it’s way too busy. Too many add-ons and tidbits that betray this car’s committee design. And the back is boring and entirely forgettable. I’ve had to look at the images a few times just to remind myself what it looks like.
Damon — Farago does this sometimes. I think he posts hastily just to throw it out there, because he usually adds credits later. Although, actually, it seems like some of the images haven’t been that clearly attributed, even in the title/tooltip tag… I’ll have to dig up some examples.
Edit: Looks like attribution is now there. A full URL would be nice on all these posts (maybe have it show up in the comments section to keep the front page from getting cluttered?)

Dang — quad foglights!
Gotta get me some of them — double up the pair I’ve got now.
Cool!

So, Lexus and Hyundai copy us, and we copy them right back. See how THEY like it! HAH!

I’m planning to buy the next E class - AMG.
But the Fog lights GOTTA GO.
i can deal with the ugly - Hyundai rear end, but THOSE FOG LIGHTS GOTTA GO

You can get LED DRLs instead of the fogs. They look much better and mimic the exterior mirror side indicator design.

it seems as though the Chrysler merger/takeover is still an ongoing nightmare for M-B.
such a deeply unattractive car that does exude any class/presence

Screw this, I am going to go get myself a Hyundai Genesis!!

he is thinnking, I am the luckiest guy on the planet. Two years ago I gave Chrysler away and left $36 billion on the table in the US. Today, I preside over a traditional luxury brand that is back to where it was ten years ago, making luxury cars. We all can talk of what he didn’t do at Chrysler, but with the overproduction in the World for cars, who could have turned this left over (chrysler) around? If chrysler had such a glorious future, why did Eaton sell it ten years ago? Was he also smart enough to read the tea leaves?

Not working as well as the new C and S. Heck, the 2010 Ford Taurus looks better, at least on the outside.

*I don’t need drivers blinding me with even more lights!*
Thanks, my thoughts exactly. That’s enough with the bright lights.
*You can get LED DRLs instead of the fogs.*
No please, don’t be giving them any more bad ideas.

“So, Herr Buschmann - what are you going to do with THAT?”
(Bodo Buschmann is the head of BRABUS, and Brabus Benzes have had quad foglights for some time. Now they’ll need Octo-foglights to make a statement.)

Black paint makes everything better - the creases will disappear and the car will be reinstated to its MB glory.
As an aside, it’s colossal - has this the E-class gravitated to the conservative version of the S-class?
