It seems extremely unlikely that they will actually produce a passenger car (even a halo vehicle) with dual wind-deflectors, rather than a proper windshield. Does this seem outlandish to anyone else?

I think it looks good, and not ugly at all (neither fericiously nor ferociously so). It is obviously going to be a collector car, and if it sees ultraviolet light it will be at Pebble Beach or the like.

Maybe one of these will be lucky enough to trundle around the city once in a while. But I bet half of them end up in climate controlled garages in the United Arab Emirates.

I’m a fan of the enlarged side vent. Makes it look a lot lighter than it really is.

Also, anybody making comments about the absence of a windshield is missing the point of this car.

Yeah, I couldn’t actually find room for a license plate on that front end.
Useful or not, 75 of these SLRs are going to happen. The ones that will get to own them probably can afford a bug-free track :)

Why is the plate on the ground, no place to put it on the gaping hole of a front end. Doesn’t the government have regulations on windsheilds?

Sounds like fun a really fast car with zero wind protection so that first bettle to hit you in the head a high speed knocks you out. Getting hit by bugs at 70-80 mph hurts even with my helmet on, with it off is just plain suicide. And bugs are soft and squishy, rocks will be lethal.
