    I drove Bugs and micro busses exclusively for almost 20 yrs. I never heard of the wiper arm recall and never had any trouble with them. The 1st recall I ever heard about was on full size Chevvies breaking motor mounts. The heeled over engine would jam the throttle linkage wide open. The fix was a sort cable to prevent the engine from leaning.
