Today, at 4pm in Munich, the sixth generation 3 series was launched to the press. Usually, this happens in an exotic place. Today, BMW picked a super-exotic place: Its plant in Munich. More than 10,000 people work here, and the launch in the factory was meant to underscore how important BMW’s volume model is in keeping the 10,000 employed.
First to see the daylight was a 320d, followed by a 328i, bunches of additional 320d, a 328i, a 330i, and finally a 335i. You’ll see lots of pictures after the jump … (Read More…)

As we’ve already seen, BMW is building a record number of variants of its next-generation 3 Series, including “GT” hatchback and X4 “Sport Activity Coupe.” But as this photo shows, there is at least one other Dreier bodystyle that we hadn’t heard about yet: the long wheelbase sedan (top). Given the brand’s post-Bangle swing towards extreme styling consistency, the decision between a LWB 3 series and a 5 series seems to have serious head-scratching potential… but it’s not something we’ll have to worry about. The LWB sports sedan will only be sold in China, according to Auto Motor und Sport, where upmarket buyers favor chauffeurs… even in the Ultimate Driving Machine.

mkirk - Having looked at the Panther WIKI page, I still prefer the early ones and would add a Panther based Continental to the list. Panther + Opera window = win!

DeadWeight - You will be able to have your Ford-Lincoln with any motor you wish so long as it has 4 or fewer cylinders. Black paint may or may not an extra cost option.
Gentle Ted - Why not? They have been used in most Countries other than in North America, Gasoline or Petrol is very expensive outside of the USA so good 4 cyl engines...
