I'd like to see the M3's V8 in the 5-series and 7-series and every other BMW. More power than the current cars is interesting, but a bit too edgy I think. Although making those edges more user friendly is part of the cars development anyhow, its part of the reasons these cars exists in the first place. The Benz I have some faith they can make into a much more engaging driving machine, but I rather not expect to much.

No seriously.

I drove a 335i coupe today, and found the power and torque to be too much for city street driving (did I just say that?).

No, really. I kinda had more fun, more challenge with the 128i driven just prior.

What am I going to do with a twin-turbo 5.5L V-10?

"Start stop tech and part time alternator" all sounds the the much maligned BASS from GM. Although it was available on a Saturn.
Man, GM does a similar deal and you guys puke. BMW says they MIGHT do it and you guys get a chubby.

CAFE certainly isn't going to stop foreign automakers from producing the performance cars they're known for and that well-off enthusiasts want. Good.

This should be a match for the ages. Pretty sure M-B should have no trouble boosting the 6.2 V8's power to either match or surpass the BMW's V10. Then again, with BMW's recent love affair for forced induction maybe they can uncork some of the V10's potential.

Either way, while we're all stressing about emissions and as mileage, these two uber sedans will keep duking it out.
