Bertel- It was at a semiconductor fab in NY. These guys were the engineers/maintenance for the tools I worked with.

Oh no! I feel like such a geek! I’ve actually seen all six episodes of this show, and then I find it on here of all places! How funny!

When I was in Tokyo at the beginning of the year, I went to a maid cafe called @HomeCafe. It was amazing! Although I knew it was an odd thing to do, I also knew it was a rare opportunity, being that these cafes exist more or less only in Japan, and just a few of its major cites. They draw people because of the cuteness of the maids, and the food is not horrible either. I had a piece of cake shaped like a bear. Oishii!

Next time I go, I’ll be sure to ask what maids drive.
(I’m sure it’s something small and cute!)

I briefly worked with Japanese guys at a job I had

were obsessed with rock, paper, scissors. They played constantly.
Had Chinese girlfriends/wives

Well, all I can tell you is that some of this is really going on in those maid cafes. On the menu were things like ear cleaning with a Q-Tip, $10.

I have fuzzy feelings for the newbie who formerly worked in a hostess bar.

I have really seen acting like that before, although I kinda knew it existed. Its an anime acted out by people. Its trying to do exactly like the anime in real life. Um….it looks a bit different in the real world. The actors do not really convey a lot of the feelings and perspective of the anime. I do not want to humiliate or shame fellow fans, but that tv show scared me a little. Its not what I see when I watch anime, its not the equal to a real life representation. Its like Adam West batman vs. The Dark Night. I like the effort and the using the original anime recording, but real life is much more complicated than the anime ie. ugly. I’m glad this show exists and people are exploring their humanity, perhaps in ways I rather not, but still pioneers to me. I wanna see people and I want to do some really embarrassing things, trial and error, its how we grow. Humility (not humiliation) is also the cure for a lot of things from snobbery to prejudice imo.

Also I do not think it healthy, appropriate, and responsible to not accept reality and live in a fantasy. Not that fantasy is bad or wrong, just one can have a dysfunctional relationship with reality. To each his own though.
