Now that Volkswagen is the de facto owner of Porsche, after Porsche’s audacious bid to take over Wolfsburg ended in utter defeat, one has to ask oneself: “Is Volkswagen going to embarrass Porsche any further?” The answer appears to be “yes”. Let me explain…
I’m one of the people who believe that Porsche started to lose their way when they introduced the Cayenne. A big, bloated luxo-SUV which was as ugly as a Pontiac Aztek this lady. So you would think that Porsche would want to get back to making good sports cars and forget this sorry SUV. Not so.
In fact, they want to repeat it. Inside Line reports that Martin Winterkorn has confirmed that Porsche will offer another SUV, albeit a smaller one. “There will also be a new SUV, a little brother for the Cayenne, which might be called the ‘Cajun’.” said Herr Winterkorn, with no trace of sarcasm, apparently. Worldly as he is, Herr Winterkorn must be planning a spicy brand jambalaya.
“We’ll make the Porsche brand sparkle even more.” Yeah, because when I look at the Panamera, the first thing I think of is “Wow! What a stunner!”…

Met a fellow at the Honda dealer a few weeks ago who was trading a Cayenne for a Crosstour. Why? Infinite problems, large charges, and the reliability of a GM diesel. I was seriously considering purchasing a Boxer, but after consulting with a friend who owns one and learning that he was only on his second engine after 30k miles leads me to believe that all the GM idiots who ran that disaster must have started working at Porsche a while back. Sorry, but it's Japanese cars for me.
I think you could probably argue that Porsche has been a financial company supported by cars since the 996. How different is a second Porsche SUV from something like the 911 Sport Classic that's designed purely to empty the wallets of suckers? There's no "great performance heritage" left (that went completely out the window with the Cayenne V6), it's all just cynical money making operation.
I guess I'm the only one who likes the looks of the Panamera. Is it possible that most Panamera haters also despise any front-engined Porsche?

Pardon my way of speaking borrowed from the Middle Kingdom I am so solly to say the Panamera is kind of bloated one cannot tell whether is Fat or Swollen, blowing ~ a hundred grand on such a dreadful design!
