He’s had it coming. Our Dear Leader finally received what he deserved: A vacation. With wife and kids, Farago goes to Disney World. Or Disney Land. Anyway, one of those Mickey Mouse metros. While our Dear Leader is away, our beloved Edward Niedermeyer is running the show at TTAC. 16 timezones away in Beijing, Ed is being assisted by yours truly. Which works out just fine: BS has the morning shift, then, Mr. Ed takes over and runs two shifts. Keep in mind, Ed is an Oregonian (sounds kinky.) Please indulge him, and grant him the extra three hours of sleep the Westcoasties deserve. If there’s a little less of the usual morning barrage of posts, do not despair. Ed will make up for it during the day and night.

Also of note: Our web servers are still acting up, sick from the China Syndrome. View counters won’t be back until “after Thanksgiving,” our resident Otaku promised. The site sometimes can be slow to react to your comments. Don’t worry, don’t double post: The comments will show up – after a (sometime excruciatingly long) wait. Same goes for Farago: He’ll be back. Then, there will be hell to pay.

I hope he’s not going to try to comment or blog from his iPhone. If you’re reading this, RF, get back to vacation!

Yeah it’s slow, makes firefox slow, makes the PC slow…

I read the headline and thought damn, Farago got fired…

    Happy it’s only vacations

Aw sweet I’ma gonna get my insult on without fear of retribution! Everybody that reads this, you’re a turd and your opinions are likely rooted in racism. Did I mention this site hates the Big 3 and is biased and RF told me he wants Detroit to get nuked by a super-bomb? Also, the contributors to this site are physically unattractive and their mothers are goats.

    Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh that was awesome.

He’d have to be one masochistic fella to fire himself from his own website.

Then again… we’ve been telling Rick Wagoner to do it for years.

    Touche.

Sometimes, my posts don’t show up, not even hours later or even the next day.

Most of the time it doesn’t really matter; you know, in a “big scheme of things” sort of way. But on occasion, it does get frustrating.

I have been guilty of the dreaded “double post”. Patience is a virtue. Sometimes..

Disney World is not exactly a place to “relax”. Unless you hide away in the hotel room.

Especially Thanksgiving Week. Times Square on New Year’s Eve is more tranquil and calming.

Ummm. By any chance does Farago’s itinerary take him to Washington, D.C. in the first week of December?

You know, to take in, say, the Smithsonian Museum of Transportation, or Ford’s Theatre? Maybe a visit to the Capitol Building to see Congress in Session?

I hear it is very interesting to learn about our government from observing a session of Congress, or a hearing…..

@kazoomaloo: You’ve got to do much better while Mr. Ed & BS are around. The Geiger counter barely jittered.

Been there and done that–just a couple of suggestions–

Stay away from The Mouse (and the Mousette)

Watch out for those gift shoppes

And all the fried stuff at the restaurants

And if you’re going to the Orlando place and get tired of animatron animals, go to Gator Land as a respite. [Besides, seeing all those gators munching on various parts of whole fryer chickens will be an apt metaphor of the current situation of some of the car companies we love to bash.

    And have fun!

If you are going to the Euro one, then stock up on the free rolls, cheese, ham and cake at breakfast. Saved hundreds of Euros last time making our own picnics.

Now thats out of the way I’m off upstairs to find the porn stash, anyone know where it is ?

  • SexCpotatoes

Um, I had some submissions I just completed and sent off to Justin… (I thought something might be up as Mr. Farago told me to send them to J when I contacted him through the site form). I guess you guys are running the show while he’s gone, congrats on the promotion. I’m glad RF finally got some R&R time away from the site (and with his family), and hope he returns well rested and in a good enough mood to approve my submissions!

Um…okay, that was out of left field. Was this a joke? I’m not sure even emoticons would have helped here.

Let’s be careful so that our er .. “good natured” (or “other”) comments don’t gloss over a possibly genuine technical problem with the website.

Let the record show that in these troubled times Mr. Farago chose NOT to take the private corporate jet.

One other reason that post-delay is bad is that I can’t re-read my post; can’t even access it, so I cannot correct any spelling or grammar mistakes.

As I said in an earlier post, “what” I’m saying may not be much in the big scheme of things, but I should at least be allowed to self-edit.

When the post doesn’t appear until the next day, that’s way over the 60 minute time limit for changes. I never get that chance.

THAT is the worst thing about “post-delay.”
