Once I pulled over an older gentleman (for a stolen tag) in a beautifullly restored 1959 Cadillac in a particularly bad part of town.

As he rolled down the window I notice a gun on the front seat about 6 inches away from his hand.

After I calmly got him and the gun secured, I asked him why he had that so close to him.

“Son, would YOU feel safe driving in this part of town without YOUR gun next to you?”

We had a good laugh, and I let him go.

(Okay, I made up the last sentence…)

One should hope though, that this is not a Prelude to worse things happening, and perhaps he should embark on an Odyssey with his Passport and Pilot himself to a place where a tranquil Ridgeline puts his mind at ease from the worries of the world.

It would help if people took a bit more time to find some Insight into the source of their anger. Is this a guy problem – or aNy SeX?

The thing is it hardly appears to be a case of defending yourself against a criminal with necessary lethal force here. I agree that this makes it much harder for responsible people to maintain their right to keep and bear arms. He shoudl be punished for his reckless discharge of a firearm and endangering the lives of his children.

Note, the Honda driver was also a former corrections officer. Pretty good chances that means he was reprimanded several times for excessive force when dealing with inmates. At least that would be the most likely case in California, where I live. Corrections officers here don’t leave their jobs unless forced to, given the great pay and benefits that they enjoy.

They go into that in the concealed carry class. The laws and 21′ perimeter. Your just as at fault as the criminal if you hit an innocent in the backround either by missing or passing through the target.

If someone starts shooting at me they better be ready to have aimed headshots coming back at them. I don’t carry the 3 pounds of weight for the exercise.

Maybe the criminals would stop treating us like targets if more people stood their ground with lethal force. Easier to defend yourself in court for justifiable homicide than to crawl out of a pine box.

At least now I’m beginning to understand why Acura switched to using alphanumeric names. The Allure of this Avalanche of puns is causing TTAC’s readers to lose Focus on the story here, namely the Pursuit of this problem of Rogues and Vipers who treat their commutes like Le Mans or a Grand Prix, as they publicly work out their Gremlins when they should be behaving like Ambassadors or Diplomats, instead.

There isn’t any reason to fire off a gun in another person’s direction unless they are shooting at you and you can’t get away.
