Canada’s Highway of Heroes (401 in Ontario). The fallen from Canada’s war effort in Afghanistan are honored by being driven down the 401 with hundreds of onlookers on the overpasses.

Unfortunately there is no American Highway of Heroes, as current SOP is to hide our war dead. But we do now have a Highway of Beggars and Thieves, don’t we? I want to see some new trailblazers on the OH and PA turnpikes. (I think the Engine of Democracy logo would be a suitable design for these!)

Rick’s arrival in a Volt is another example of why GM failed. Apperances are everything but they are clueless of public perception. They would spend thousands shipping the Volt from Detroit so Rick could roll up to Congress in “the future of automobiles” and not get that we would question the money spent.

Has it ever occurred to anyone on the BoD that Rick not only lacks the leadership skills, but he doesn’t even have the appearance of leadership? Seriously, his threshold appearance looks like his mom just clipped that tie on and brushed his hair.

toxic – that’s not a true volt. And all the money they spent on the decals but they couldn’t pilfer some hub caps from a Cobalt? lol

I have to wonder the same thing as Bunter – how much did it cost to get the Cruze or whatever that is with the Volt technology inside to DC before he arrived to take it for a spin.

So here’s a question-what did it cost in time and rescources to get the psuedo-Volt to Dc so Rick could grandstand in it? Would a ride in the Gulfstream have been cheaper?

Who got to ride shotgun and who had to ride in the back?

Seeing as the back window is open, I’m betting the Levin twins sat in the back. This could also explain Rick’s obvious expression of relief, the old man funk must have been overwhelming…..
