Anybody know if there is a NASCAR clause that says if you show NASCAR you can't show WRC or F1?

I mean SpeedTV or SpeedVision or the SpeedChannel - whatever theycall themselves these days - seemed to drop the WRC like a hot potato when they picked up NASCAR. As if NASCAR can't co-exist with anything else beside short circle tracks from BumF***Egypt...

All of it, picking one over the other is just wrong.
NASCAR, F1, IRL, ALMS, Monster trucks, lawn mowers, swamp buggys. If it's got someone in or on a motorized vehicle competing against another someone in or on a motorized vehicle it's good.
Haters need to lighten up.

Moto GP and WRC.

Lost interest in F1 when Schumacher retired but was willing to give it a go. When they allowed the fraud by McLaren without proper punishment it was over. I will never again spend a red cent on anything F1 related.

If I were into motorsports, I'd probably be spending time on relevant websites instead of TTAC. Oh, I've been to the car races a coiuple of times, when I lived in DC where one of my friends is a former race driver, and I might even go again one day. And I enjoy hearing about LeMons on here. I guess the motorsport I really love is driving my Accord on the twisties.

But I'm much more interested in Jonny's cool-looking Volvo than in his performance at LeMons (but congrats anyway on regaining so much ground!). I really love the look of that thing.

Sometimes when I am bored I will watch some NASCAR only on TV.

I love Vintage Rallies. Especially challenging Time/Speed/Distance rallies. There is near ZERO risk for accident, as all the driving is on public roads at or near the speed limit. The challenge is in navigation and timing. It sounds boring, but it is actually both a ton of fun, and a huge challenge. Doing it in an old car increases the challenge as instrumentation and mechanical reliability has to be dodgy to really have fun, right? Compensating for odometer drift while watching the Lucas Ammeter wobble uncertainly is way tougher than following your GPS and a digital readout!

The toughest one I do every year is the Monte Shelton. I'll also be running the New England 1000 again next week.

As for watching stuff on TV? I really only tune into Le Mans for a few hours once a year. Watching motorsport on TV is boring. Especially after you have actually participated in some events.

1 F1
2 GP2
3 A1GP
4 Euroseries F3, IRL, DTM, MotoGP, World Series by Renault, some WTCC, everything really...

Basically I always watch the F1 races and qualifying, I plan my other activities around them.

I also try to watch the GP2 races if I can. The A1GP is fun, but it's not what I'd consider racing on the highest level, next year with the Ferrari F1 lights running it might get interesting though...

I watch the Indy 500 every year but the other races not so much, I've watched the longbeach grandprix once or twice in the ChampCar malaise era but found it to be very boring...it's not even racing if you are not allowed to defend your position, no wonder Americans can't cut it in F1...

The Euroseries F3 has a very high level of talent, but the cars have way too much downforce for the power, making the races as thrilling as an F1 race minus the speed, noise, glamour and the thrill of the highest level...

All the other ones I catch in (TV) magazines.

NASCAR races aren't aired on TV in Europe in full, sometimes you can catch a brief recap in some sports magazine, but it's strange and the new car is ugly...not really my thing, although I'd be happy to see the Daytona 500 in full once to give it an honest chance...

I don't know if I could call it my favorite motorsport, but the local track has the Hornet class races. These are short wheel base cars (lots of Geos and Probes) that have minimal safety-all glass removed, roll cage recommended, helmet required-and more minimal speed going around a 3/8 mile paved oval , usually with some obstacles thrown in. Like the LeMons, the track has the right to buy any vehicle from its owner for $500. I nearly got involved in it, but I couldn't find anybody to haul my potential Hornet (a $450 MR2 "with body damage") to and from the track, so I had to give up on the dream.

The reason for the name? One final requirement, a yellow paint job.

The Grand-Am Rolex series. At least it was until they stopped going to Phoenix International Raceway. Nothing better than taking a Friday off from work and spending the day wandering through the pits, taking pictures and watching qualifying up close.
