@thetopdog: Porsche has enough moeny already to buy VW and also , since when is it the job of a company to keep prices of their products low? Global Porsche sales are going great so why should they lower prices?

Oh and btw., due to the Dollar devaluation they have effectively lowered their (Euro based) prices in the US quite significantly. Just so that Americans continue to be able to buy Porsches, even if their currency isn’t worth much anymore. Isn’t that nice?

It seems like Porsche is using profits to take over VW (and perhaps the world? They are German after all…) as opposed to keeping the prices of Boxsters and Caymans down. Neither the Boxster or the Cayman (a coupe that costs more than its convertible equivalent) are particularly cheap for the performance they offer. They are both great cars though, and I’m not sure the same can be said of this upcoming SUV

Are you sure that picture is not of a Panamera mule?

They ran the Panamera powertrain under slightly modified Cayenne bodies (dropped to the ground like the one shown). I know of at least 5 of these they were running and they looked almost exactly like the picture shown above (if my memory serves me correctly)…
