  They guy in the video says they started with a blank canvas and that its a real unique car. I’m not seeing it, it just looks like a lengthened 911 or a flattened cayenne

  This is an ingenious solution to a problem that should have never existed in the first place. Why in the hell do you need all of these things in one car? If you have the money to buy this monstrosity, why not own two bloody cars instead?!

  I predict that buyers will forgive the wretched ugliness because it has a Porsche badge on the bonnet and boot. As evidence I submit the sales of every BMW and Mercedes over the past 10 years. For extra credit I submit Porsche’s own Ceyenne.

  For 2008, Porsche sold 10.6% fewer cars than ‘07. Cayenne sales increased 5.7%, Boxster/Cayman declined 33%, 911 declined 16.6%. (Figures from Panorama magazine). What’s the market telling them? They also have a demographic problem – at the price, their cars will always be small run and sold to well-to-do people of a certain age. The last popular priced Porsche was the 70’s 914. They aren’t in Buick or Lincoln’s demographics yet, but…. I hope for a 928 successor with the Panamera/Cayenne engine, but in the meantime they are in business to survive and make money. Back in the early 90’s 911/928/968 days, they nearly didn’t. Of course they didn’t control VW/Audi/Lamborghini/Bentley then either.

  How long before Porsche gets Chrysler to supply them with minivans? A Town & Country with a 911 front end – they could name it the Orangutan. But all things considered, a 4-door sports saloon is much more in line with Porsche’s image than the Cayenne.

  LOL, that is funny. Pamanera looks pretty good as a large sporty sedan. Its infuriating that it can’t be had for a much lower price. I guess many will need to wait a while. I may never drive a Porsche, good thing women aren’t so hard to get. Seriously I forgot live is unfair. Its infuriating for Porsche to reject me, after presenting the car to the whole world, like if everyone can buy one.

May I ask what your point is?

  I could not agree more with FreedMike. This Porsche is F.U.G.L.Y. I think Porsche is taking an unnecessary risk with its sports car niche putting out stuff like this. I would MUCH prefer the E63 AMG. What’s next, a Porsche station wagon?
