I am new here to TTAC’s. I am personally aquainted with Sajeev, his Mom and Brother. Also met Dad once. His Mom bought a car from me. I can tell you that Sajeev is one particular person when it comes to cars. You should see his 1994 Lincoln Mark VIII. Awesome.
I even arranged for his Buick Lucerne that he test drove. Even tho the Buick did not get glowing reviews, I know, in his opinion that is just the way he sees it.
BTW, great interview Sajeev.

Sounds like a nice original. Mine had well over 200,000 miles when I got it, the only thing original was the body, paint and interior.

No odd stampings inside the engine that I’ve found, though I do have the “Powered By Ford” stamped on both valve covers.

Oh yeah – I pulled the headlights a couple of years ago – they were stamped “Ford Canada 67″ on them – still had 3 of the 4 original headlights! I replaced them in order to preserve the old ones.

Happy_Endings: We (yes Jonny, that includes Mom) were at Prince Edward Island only, it was quite nice. I’m used to Carribean islands, and PEI was remarkably similar in attitude…just a lot colder. :)

taxman100: My LTD was a 352 4V; boat anchor of a motor. Didn’t matter, that car was wonderful. Does your ‘67 have the word “Hi” stamped in the firewall too? Those 1960s Ford engineers had a twisted sense of humor, that’s for sure.

Nope, no 7 liter, neither the 427 nor the 428. I have to make due with a measley 6.4 liters, better known to the pre-emissions controlled world as the 390. You know, the kind of engine you could run until it locked up from no oil, let it cool, re-oil it, and the 500 lbs of Ohio-Valley made American iron cast for the block and head would fire back up, and send you on your way via the C-6 tranny that has never been apart in 39 years.

Still has the original steel wheels and full steel hubcaps, and the flying whip rear antenna on the trunk lid. Completely stock – including the radio.

Crawl under a 67 Ford and a 2006 Grand Marquis – not as much difference as you may think.

My Uncle always drove Buicks. When I was a young teen in the early 1960s, he bought himself a 4-holer coincident with his becoming a 32nd-degree Mason. No offense to Masons, as I’m still not sure what that means, but it definitely sounds like it deserves 4 holes.

I am now as old as my uncle was then, and Buick still conveys, at least to me, a single impression. They don’t make cars for me.

I see two options. First, the company can thin their ranks and promote the men and women prepared to design a new-for-2008 ‘54 Buick Roadmaster convertible or ‘53 Skylark. Second, I can, of course, grow up and buy the car they are still building for my late uncle.

Great writing here at TTAC. I appreciated Sajeev’s review of the Lucerne. And I see Sajeev’s mom as important on this trip. I’m wondering whether the Buick is built for her. I’ll bet it is not.

I knew when I read your Grand Marquis review, you were a man after my own heart (the traditional meaning, not the modern). In addition to Grand Marquis #2, I also own a 67 Ford Galaxie 500XL convertible.

Don’t understand Ford Motor Company at all today – they are actually pissing me off enough to never buy another one of their products, especially sans Panther platform.
