Maybe the 2008 SCCA Playboy Mazda MX-5 Cup would have that manly image if they used LS1 swap Miatas instead.

I see more middle-aged men (with full white beards) driving Miatas than women.

It actually convinced me to grow a beard myself.

@quasimondo: The Mustang convertible is a “chick car”… Seriously. Unless in GT form and modified.

Maybe the mustang, if you are retired. Maybe the Nissan, because it’s a pretty brutal car.

Otherwise, they are all chick cars. Especially the ones mentioned by d996. Just my opinion. I owned a Miata, but everyone seems to agree it’s a chick car now, even me. When I bought the 1990 model, I got lots of dates with mine, but I don’t think it still holds that ability.

Ya, my Miata ceased to attract women about 1993. That’s about 4 years after it came out I believe. But when it was new, it was quite the magnet.

The MX-5 is all about feeling complete control over a topless wonder with no bloat to distract you from the task at hand. See where I’m going with this?

I don’t really consider Play Boy much of a porno mag, more of a lifestyle mag along the lines of GQ or Maxim or FHM. However, they simply went the extra mile in getting the ladies naked. I know the sponsor a good amount of those Cannonball and Player’s Run cars.
