Malaysia is one racist nation which is still to grow out medieval Islamic practices.
What is troubling is that countries like this and China is rising into prominence thanks to their new found wealth.

BlueRat: Wheelies on scooters? Yes, it can be done on manual transmission scooters like the old Vespas… they had twistgrip 3-speed manual transmissions, and the kick from their 150-175cc two stroke singles was enough if you dumped the clutch just right.

I’m saying: My NYC taxi driver during my 1995 visit? 80 mph LITERALLY through Soho and Manhattan. Yeah, I was unbelted and I was scared.

Later that night our taxi driver of unknown Arab descent jumped out of the taxi and chased two old folks who we shared the taxi with down the street with a large knife over 50 cents difference in the meter vs their normal fare. My buddy and I (not from big cities) just sat there dumbfounded. If it happened again I would have driven away at a high rate of speed with his taxi.

This is America???

Wow. From my time in Malaysia, I was amazed that there were not more accidents. The only accident I saw was on the freeway between KL and the airport where an army troop carrier had flipped over in a ditch.

The moped drivers there are amazing… just like in the rest of South East Asia. How they manage to survive any commute is mind boggling.
